Yesbank Credit Card Spend based Offer (Dec 2019)

By | December 12, 2019

The Golden days of Yesbank Credit cards are completely gone as they first revoked their most popular spend based offers like this and then they devalued all cards one fine day.

After that I’ve hardly received any spend based offer, except one, received during Sep 2019 (same offer as this) but few of them seem to be getting decent offers like this one which our friend Satish reported.

So here’s one which I received today,

Yesbank Cashback Offer Details

  • Type: Spend based, targeted
  • Offer: Spend Rs.250 in 4 or more txns to get Rs.250 cashback
  • Offer Period: 10th Dec to 31st Dec 2019
  • Fulfilment: 31st Jan, 2019
  • Source

Its a neat & simple offer and its indeed a highly rewarding offer as you get 25% in return on spend but Rs.250 is too low. They do fulfill on time as it happened with my previous offer received during Sep 2019.

Bottomline

While its good to see Yesbank offers to be back, I wish they set some standards for premium cards like min. benefit value should be ~Rs.500 for Yes Preferred cards and ~Rs.1000 for Yes Exclusive cards and further raise the number based on other metrics like monthly spends etc.

Let’s see what Yesbank Credit Cards has in store for 2020!

Did you get a spend based offer this December or before? Feel free to share the offers you’ve received in the comments below.

Bah! This is useless…For my super premium card they are giving a benefit of 250 Rs!!!
Even the DBS Savings account is more rewarding.
I dont know what there Marketing team is looking at but my guess is they dont care or cant afford to care for their customers. Eventually they will be left with only credit needy customers because of adverse selection.

      Sir,

Bank hardly earns anything on the reward gammers. They truely need credit needy customers who can pay them hefty interests.

I got the offer of 1K cashback on spending 20K.

@Sid, how do we report offers to you? I remember once (long time ago) I emailed you (got from your contact us page, I think), but it did not get noticed.

Kindly forward the offer email to sid[at]cardexpert.in
That helps a lot than the mails via contact page.

But mails sent via contact page are also monitored but due to regular inflow of emails its tough to respond to each. Also, not all offers are published, esp. because its either sent to very tiny set of ppl (in your case, as i see the email now) or its very low rewarding like this offer Rs.250! but made it this time to check what others are getting.

So it all depends, and when I write an article with your email as only source or a very early reported source, I usually credit them in the article.

Yes Bank, it seems has lost its way. Rs.250 Cash back is more of a “Joke” than a real offer. The Bank is under Credibility issue after all those unwanted things and its new Card addition program has taken a beating. Its high profile Prolay Mondal has since joined Axis bank, and it is now way behind its earlier target of securing the 3rd spot in Indian Credit Card market. Only good thing about this card is its lounge program, particularly Exclusive cards, for which I have retained this Card.

    CAUTION!!!!!!!

Guys, YesBank has conned me. I want you guys to stay alert so you don’t fall into the trap too. I believe many of you guys have taken the bait like me. YesBank is charging me a annual membership fee for card that they offered me lifetime free and not giving me the option to even cancel the card as I don’t want to pay the fee. They’re saying that I must pay the fee and only then cancel the card.

I was holding an Yes First Preferred Credit Card before and last year I got an SMS stating that I was eligible for a free upgrade to an Yes First Exclusive credit that was lifetime free. I confirmed with the customer care and gave my consent for the upgrade.

My card membership starts at Feb every year and I got an SMS some time before about my card dues. I was shocked to see that I have been charged a membership fee of Rs 10k. I immediately called up customer care and they’re saying that since my previous card was a charged variant so is this card too. I told them clearly that I went for the upgrade only because I was told it was a LFE variant. I asked them to cancel the card and reverse the fee and I will pay whatever other dues I have and be done with them. They’re saying that this is not possible and that I have to pay the entire amount and then cancel the card if I wish.

I said that I don’t want to step into another membership year and hence can’t be charged. They counter saying that this fee is for the already passed year and that they only meant that the upgrade was fee and not the card itself. This in contrary to what I have head before. This is cheating. I have mailed them that I am not okay with this and I feel cheated. I have asked them to either reverse the fee and let me have the card LFE in which case I will continue to hold the card or reverse the fee and I will cancel the card after paying other dues on it. Not sure what they will do.

I remember reading here that many of you claimed to have taken this same bait as I did. This is a word of caution for all such. If your next membership year is yet to commence then you better write an email to them asking them to confirm that your card is indeed LFE. I am suggesting email rather than a call to customer care as with an email you’ll have a record and you can sue them if they go back on it later.

The initial email was responded to in 2 days which was last Friday. The response was pathetic. They said that they couldn’t locate my details and asked me to email from my registered email address. What’s pathetic is that I did indeed email from my registered email address. Also they wanted extra details like my mobile and PAN. Responded immediately with both and also highlighted the email address. It’s been a week and those uncourteous people haven’t responded yet. Sent a reminder yesterday and still no response. This is the worst treatment I have ever had from any bank in my life so far. Whether they revert the annual fee or not I don’t think I am going to continue with them.

I didn’t get an email. I got an SMS that said that I have to reply YES to some number for upgrading to a LTF FYE card.

After almost a month of fighting and follow up they’ve converted they have agreed it’s their mistake and have reversed the annual fee and GST on my card. When I sent the consent SMS for the upgrade, nothing happened for about a week and I had to call up customer care. The executive that I spoke to said that I was indeed eligible for a LTF YFE credit card and that she will take the request again. This is apparently where the issue seems to have happened. Anyway it’s fixed now and I got an email confirmation for that too.

10X on Yescart extended till 30Sep. Translates to 15% RP for online shopping and 30% for travel with YFE. For YFP its 10% on shopping and 20% on travel which is also good. Works out decent for Yes Premia as well. For those who don’t hold DCB or Infinia or exhausted their monthly quota, these are some of the best offers.

Another big positive introduced on yes reward points – now they can be redeemed for a number of e-vouchers like amazon, fk, big bazaar, Taj, lifestyle etc. Earlier it was mostly just travel. And there’s lot of flexibility in choosing the voucher value you want. So along with the benefit of never-expiring pts, now there is variety of redemption options.
On a separate note, it’s a good card for wallet loading, especially where majors like hdfc and sbi don’t give pts, and lot of users get it LTF.

Targeted. Spend 35K in Jan and get 250 amazon voucher. Still better than ICICI’s spend 1.6L and get 900 cashback.
