HDFC Bank has very many rewarding credit cards with them and the recent addition to the list is the Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card – a nice and noteworthy co-brand dining credit card.

HDFC Swiggy Credit Card that operates on Mastercard World platform offers 10% cashback on Swiggy spends and 5% cashback on online spends.

Here’s everything you need to know about the HDFC Bank Swiggy Credit Card in it’s current form in 2025.

The HDFC Swiggy Credit Card has a vibrant, eye-catching design that stands out both indoors and outdoors. Even the envelope carrying the card follows the same colour theme.

  • Cashback gets credited to statement directly
  • Swiggy spends includes: Food, Instamart, Dineout & Genie.
  • Online Spends includes: most online shopping spends.

The monthly cashback cap is well-structured for a typical user, ensuring it doesn’t feel restrictive. Note that it’s a separate cap for Swiggy/Online spends.

Figuring out what counts as an online spend can be tricky, but from what I’ve seen, it works well on popular shopping sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and even Ola – covering almost everything you might need.

Here’s the latest list of eligible categories (MCC codes), but it may change over time.

Exclusions:

  • From 1% cashback: Rent, Utilities, Fuel, Insurance, EMI, Jewelry, Govt spends, Wallet loads, etc
  • From 5% cashback: Flight, hotel bookings, etc

The exclusions for 1% cashback seem reasonable, but for 5% online spends, an exclusion-based approach instead of an inclusion-based one would have made things much simpler.

Swiggy One

The HDFC Swiggy Credit Card includes a 3-month complimentary Swiggy One membership. Existing Swiggy One members can simply extend their membership by 3 months.

While this is a nice perk, a longer membership period would have made the benefit even more valuable.

Golf Benefit

The Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card is issued on the Mastercard World platform and includes complimentary access to golf courses in India, with up to 12 free golf lessons per year.

It’s a smart move that they skipped free airport lounge access, likely to keep costs in check.

FAQ’s

Can I use the card on different Swiggy Account?

Yes, if you have a card, you can use it both on your account and your family accounts. You can also go with an Add-on Card, just like how I did.

Can I load Swiggy Money Wallet and get cashback?

No, excluded for cashback.

I already have a HDFC Bank Credit Card. Can I still apply?

Yes, these days HDFC bank gives 1 or 2 co-brand cards on floater limit with the existing credit card.

How do I know MCC code before making the transaction?

Well, there is no way unfortunately. But you can always do a test transaction, call HDFC Bank support and ask for MCC. That works flawlessly for most.

Can I buy Gift Cards on Amazon and get 5% cashback?

It depends. Amazon frequently switches payment gateways, so you’ll only know after the transaction. However, checking the merchant name on the OTP page might give you a hint to increase your chances.

Bottomline

  • Cardexpert Rating: 4.8/5

The HDFC Bank Swiggy Credit Card is a nice and noteworthy no-frills cashback credit card that primarily focuses on rewarding cardholders with Swiggy/online spends.

Given the ease of applying and managing the card from the app, HDFC Swiggy Credit Card is a wonderful credit card for beginners.

For those with higher online spends, pairing it with SBI Cashback Credit Card or Amex MRCC can be a smart move for maximizing rewards.

Your reviews have now become just a money making thing for you. You should write that these are all paid articles. Please come back and start writing genuine articles what you were known for. Clearly this card is not even a good card and not worth having.

Well, it’s not a paid article Sir.

Instead of sharing your baseless assumptions, feel free to share why you think it’s not a good card. I’ve always dropped the rating or updated the content based on “valid” comments and would continue to do so.

      Hi,

May be he write few articles for money.
This card is very useful for online payments.
Fortunately I got this as LTF but 5% on online spends and 10% on Swiggy spends are very nice.

Is there any spend criteria required for the golf benefit?
Surprised to see this high number of games/lessons on this card.

No, it’s there on most MC world cards but most banks don’t mention it, maybe intentionally. It’s 1/month though.

Been using this card for quite some time. Applying from HDFC site/app didn’t work but from the Swiggy app worked. Able to mint out 1.5k points each month as I am a big spender on Swiggy. For online transactions though, there are quite some issues.

With some I didn’t get the expected 5% but only 1%. Merchant codes are very important.

For example, even on Zepto I get only 1% because it’s not registered as a grocery app but some home servicing or something. That’s where the catch is when it comes to online shopping. Was able to get 5% on Flipkart. Haven’t tried on Amazon as I also have the ICICI Amazon Pay card that I use exclusively on Amazon.

Thanks for the article. Is it not beneficial to have swiggy money vouchers through gyftr and get 16% discount instead of 10% here?

The card is ideal for beginners without 5X access, but even for those who have it, 10% cashback remains attractive.

I have the Infinia card but still this is beneficial as it’s 10%, credited in the card account in the following bill cycle itself.

I haven’t applied for the card yet as it is giving me only a FYF as of now, I know of people who have been given the LTF offer. Seems a well-designed offering from HDFC, particularly as the cashback is now getting credited to the card itself.

Sid, I have my Millenia and Tata Neu Infinity registered on a different number to that I use with my Swiggy account. What do you think changing the Swiggy number to the one where I have my other HDFC cards can help with an LTF offer for this one? I do use Swiggy regularly, for both food and instamart…

I think FYF/LTF depends on the Swiggy profile and not on the contact #.

For ex, from my quick test on a fresh Swiggy account, 1 food + 1 Instamart order + Swiggy One membership (from Amex) was able to trigger the FYF free offer in a day. So they’ll have some criteria for LTF as well, like top 1% Swiggy users, etc.

I had preapproved LTF offer on swiggy app, yet got rejected after applying. Apparently some address mismatch issue.

Oh, but address mismatch should ideally trigger field verification but not rejection AFAIK.

Already holding Infinia and Neu Infinity. Applied through Swiggy as LTF. Card got approved , physical card delivered at home but can’t activate it. Calling HDFC customer care reveals I am not eligible for the card. Funny, if I was not eligible why waste money in printing and shipping it to customer ?

It is one of the best now. I am a heavy user and got lifetime free. 10% back on Swiggy insta mart is cool as the products are very competitively priced and most of the times cheaper than others. Plus the offer on dineout when now the discount are restricted to minimum spends on dineout.
This along with Nue card are awesome.

“If you’re already using Swiggy, chances are you’ll at least find the First Year Free (FYF) offer on the app.

If you’re a heavy user, then there are high chances that you might get the LTF (LifeTime Free) offer as well.”

Above seems to be not the criteria followed by the bank/Swiggy since I being heavy user of Swiggy got offer for FYF but at the same time for my wife’s Swiggy account with almost zero usage in last 2-3 years has got LTF offer.

So Swiggy usage does not decides FYF/LTF criteria for sure.

You’re right. I did check with the Bank and it seems HDFC decides the offer. Content updated, thank you.

I have been seeing this FYF offer for a long time. But did not take it as I have two cards – Axis Airtel (& previously StanC DigiSmart) that give 10% discount for food delivery.
For groceries, I use Tata Neu infinity for Big Basket discount (overall 10%).
DineOut has hardly been beneficial owing to Eazydiner access.
Wondering, will this be worth taking.

P.s: I recently took Swiggy Black membership & it has helped reduce my extra expenses for same food on Zomato

There are multiple Flipkart shopping transactions that somehow dont get the 5% discount. I’ve experienced a hit & miss several times (buying the same product each time) with this card.
