As you might know, Chennai now operates two terminals for domestic departures with Terminal 4 (T4) handling Air India & Vistara (likely all Air India group) while T1 handles all other carriers. I flew Vistara recently from T4 and here’s the review of TFS Travel Club Lounge which is the only lounge available in the terminal as of now.
Overview
Type | Premium Airport Lounge |
Card accepted | Most Cards & Business Class Passengers |
Location | Take left after security (and follow the signs) |
Plug points | Yes |
Ambiance | Good interiors & spacious |
Food options | Good, usually South Indian |
The lounge is as good as the TFS lounge in T1 and feels even more spacious. Not to forget that this lounge was previously used for international departures as T4 was handling international passengers in the past.
Check-in
I was flying Vistara business class, so got access with the boarding pass. But most cards are accepted here, as long as you’re eligible, as these days there is a spend requirement attached.
Seating & interiors
The lounge has modern interiors with variety of seating options spread across the lounge. Its typically divided into 3 sections,
- As you enter, you see comfy lounges spread across.
- There is a separate dining area as well closer to the buffet spread
- There is a small Business Class section on the right side of the lounge, it’s usually quite and less noisy.
Business Class Section
They do have a small business class section but it’s almost no different compared to the rest of the lounge except that it wouldn’t get fully occupied at peak times of the day. So you may rest in a peaceful atmosphere.
Food & Service
I did have a quick look at the food spread, it’s pretty decent and it’s similar to the other domestic lounges in Chennai Airport.
And not to forget that you may as well get the world’s 2nd best coffee: South Indian Filter Coffee here just as you would get it at all other lounges in Chennai Airport.
Bottomline
- Cardexpert Rating: 4.8/5
Overall, its a nice lounge to spend your time at Chennai airport and surprisingly the occupancy was quite good, as you can see from the pics, about 50% I would say, as most were in dining section.
So with this, there are now 4 lounges in Chennai Airport for domestic passengers, across T1 & T4 with 1 lounge in T4 as covered above and 3 more in T1 which includes the newly opened small but sufficient Priority Pass only lounge.
Have you been to this Travel Club lounge recently? Feel free to share your experiences in comments below.
wheneever u go plz post pic of food item and comment about its freshness, i have witness not much fresh item and such feedback wil help in improving the same
I haven’t faced such issues in Chennai airport lounges in the past.
I usually post food pics but I didn’t consume any food this time. However, I did visit the buffet spread area and it’s definitely fresh from what I saw.
Though will make sure to go for some tasting in future visits. Thanks.
T4 new TFS lounge is not accepting Axis select credit cards while it is being accepted at TFS lounge at T1 terminal. In fact, other Axis credit cards which are acceptable at TFS lounge at T1 are not accepted here.
Food is as good as in T1 lounge & it has live dosa counter also. But, preparation of south Indian snacks needs to be better in Chennai especially vada which on two occasions were quite hard.
Cut fruits like papaya should be replenished more frequently whenever rush is more.It is suggested to add full bananas also which are liked in this region.
I tried with the Amex Gold card and ICICI Sapphiro Credit Cards. Amex doesn’t have free access. ICICI Sapphiro gets 2 hours access.
My MH flight was delayed abot 1 hour.
Great experience at the TFS Chennai Lounge.
Relax , ALL the staff was attendive.
Mr. Kishore ways or approach of handling and response to guest in generally was good.
As i was seated in a goo loaction having a overview of the lounge ,
I could see Kishores’s way ver diligent with ALL the guest.
Thank you the MH fligt delay did’nt stress me .
Glory to GOD.
Hi, We checked in to this lounge recently on 07-July-2024 around 7 PM. Dosa live counter is must try. It is not so crowded. They are taking few minutes or need to inform to replace the dishes on the counter.
In General, I can observe that Menu items got reduced over the past years across most of the lounges (Tried in Chennai, Delhi). Food taste is good.
Right now many cards are not supported here (Axis and SBI were not accepted!!) as there seems to be a question by the provider for need of third Domestic lounge in Chennai (two in T1, this third one in T4). Try to keep backup cards until the T1 to T4 migration happens fully.
