Bank of Baroda which runs credit card business under the entity BOB Financial Solutions Limited (formerly known as Bobcards Limited) recently launched a new premium credit card named Eterna.

It is one of a kind due to its high reward rate on accelerated categories like: online spends among others. Here’s everything you need to know about BOB Eterna Credit card,

The concept of fee waiver is very good to see, especially the joining fee waiver which is not common with most premium credit cards.

3.75% return on spend is the highest ever we know of on regular online spends on credit cards. Note that we only get regular rewards of 0.75% on online wallet loads, verified as of April 2021.

Capping of 5000 Bonus points is decent considering other BOB cards. For ex, with BOB Premier the max. cap on accelerated rewards is 2K/month and for BOB Select its 1K/month.

Milestone Rewards

  • 10,000 RP’s on spending Rs.50,000 within 60 days
  • 20,000 RP’s on spending Rs.5,00,000 in a year
  • Return on spend: 1.5% 

So on spending Rs.5L, you get 1.5% on milestone itself and you may also get points as per regular rewards.

Even if 5L is spent on non-accelerated categories, one can get 2.25% return, which is quite attractive.

And not to forget, these rewards can be transferred to cash credit on statement, so they’re highly valuable.

That of course sounds mind blowing and I hope it works the way they promise.

Design

It looks decent but lacks the wow factor. It might have looked better if they had gone with a different colour combination.

Airport Lounge Access

  • Domestic: Unlimited (via Mastercard)
  • International: Nil

Good to have unlimited access to domestic lounges. Add-on cards too likely to get unlimited domestic lounge access, but can’t comment unless one actually uses them & confirms the same.

No international lounge access though, which is fine in my opinion.

Other Benefits

  1. Paytm Movie benefit: BOGO, Max Cap: Rs.250, once per month
  2. FitPass Pro: 6 months complimentary membership
  3. Golf: Mastercard Golf Benefit
  4. Forex markup Fee: 2%+GST

Good to see lower markup fee on the card among other benefits. Not sure who’s using Paytm to book movies though, I never used it.

Maximising Eterna

Bank of Baroda Eterna Credit Card - Maximizing Benefits

The sweet spot to maximise the benefit is by spending Rs.41,667 a month (Rs.5L a year, online only) doing which you can grab all of the following:

  1. Reward Points: 95,000 points (75K+20K) equivalent to Rs.23,750 cashback
  2. First year free
  3. Renewal fee waiver

Overall, you can get a maximum of net 4.75% reward rate on 5L spend, which is very generous to see from Bank of Baroda.

There is nothing more you can ask for. 🙂

I recently applied for the BOB Eterna Credit card to experience BOB services as its my first BOB card.

You may apply Bank of Baroda Eterna Credit card offline through branch (or) through the online portal.

Its undoubtedly a wonderful premium credit card product for those who know how to make use of it, as 3.75% return is highest ever one can get on regular online spends in India.

However, with the capping of 5K a month on bonus points, it may not suit high spenders. I rather wish they had 10K or higher capping, or at-least a quarterly cap instead.

Anyway, its really great to see such aggressive products from a public sector bank and this makes me wonder if BOB is planning to take BOB Financial that runs their credit card business for an IPO.

      Benefits on Insurance/fuel/wallet spends are always short lived. They will eventually stop once they see high spends, like 5L on single payment.

      Yes, they neither called/responded to my email/sms as well. Branch is the easiest way to get. Fortunately the sales guys are aware of the product.

          I have recently taken the card based on ur review. It’s good. But many things are unclear. Say shopping gives 15 reward points. But what does it include.
          Whether gold purchases give 3.75% rewards.
          The statement doesn’t show rewards earned on each purchase, which makes it unclear

            Yes it does? So long, it is bought online on Amazon, Flipkart and AJIO or other similar platforms.

        No, believe me BOBFinancial is not like HDFC etc. They are the most generous credit card company I have personally seen. They will not stop rewards on utility bill payments/fuel/wallet.

        Via email, they do reply within 3 days if you are an existing customer. If not then response will be delayed.

    I am using BOBFinancial card and guys believe me, BOBFinancial is really doing a great job from the past one year. They are surely competing like a Private Enterprise. They offer lots and lots of offer from time to time. Their customer care is also improving but at a slow pace. Major point is that it is without any IVR.
    Now to add more to the content –
    1. Minimum amount spend required to earn reward point – Rs 100
    2. Reward points also provided on fuel transactions
    3. The max capping on accelerated rewards is 5000 points per month but if the transaction is made within the 5000 points monthly 5x cap, then full spend amount will receive 5 reward points which will lead you to earn more than 5000 points (via 5x rule) in a month
    4. If amount denomination is Eg. less than 150, then points will be given on Rs 100 whereas if amount denomination is greater than equals to 150, points will be given according to Rs 200
    P.S – I think you forgot to add CardExpert rating for this card

            BOBFinancial has only one generic billing cycle – 1st of every month. So ultimately, for BOB credit cards, calendar month and billing month are the same.

          Seems like they are considering Statement month for calculating the bonus, i got this card very recently (10/03) and did 30K online transactions before my statement date(Oct15) later I did another 34K online transactions, so a total transactions value of 63941.92 and currently it is showing 9592 points.

          So it seems they are considering statement month for 5x rewards points calc instead of Calender month.

        Yes, did talk to cc. 5000 is the cap without any category exclusion. Explicitly asked if Wallet load is considered, they said yes. After cap, regular RR of 3p/100 is applicable.

        OK so let’s take an example of Select Card (because Eterna 5x points are messed up since the launch). Select gives 5x on online spends with a maximum capping of 1000 points per billing cycle i.e if you spend 20000Rs, you will get exactly 1000 points right. Now, if you do the following tranx : 5000 + 10000. Points received till now : 750pts. Now you do another tranx of Rs25000, *since this tranx falls under the max capping of 1000 points*, what BOB does is on full 25000 spend, they give 5x pts and they don’t split the amount.
        Hence you will earn 5x on full 40000 amount.

        Disclaimer : This is personally experienced by me many times, but obviously not mentioned officially anywhere. I don’t give any 100% guarantee that it will happen with everyone or not.

          Hi Tanmay, so in your example of 5+10+25 K online transactions on Select, done in the same order, how many points do you get for that month? Is it 1750 or 2000 or something else? (lets ignore the 1000 monthly bonus on 5 transactions).
          Separately, for the 1000 bonus for 5×1000 transactions is considered when 5 transactions are done in a calendar month, or in the billing cycle?
          And in your experience, on Select, when do they credit 1x and by when do they credit remaining 4x in case of online spends?

            In this case, you will get 2000 points.
            In BOB, billing cycle and calendar month is one and the same thing.
            Till October 2020, 5x were received in the same statement on Select, but since November month, 5x on Select as well as Eterna is messed up, only receiving 1x in the same statement, no clue when will they credit the deficient 4x.

      They have the worst customer support ever. You’re saying it is without IVR. I lost my card and didn’t have the card number. Guess what, there is no way you can talk to customer care if you don’t have card number. Also their email support is pathetic, 2 days to respond and response is also typically robotic without solving real problem. Thier mobile banking app also sucks. I have had horrible experience with these guys. Compare that to service of hdfc guys (I have a regalia) and they need tons of improvement.

            Believe me, BOB credit cards have lots and lots of implicit benefits which are not listed on the Brochure obviously. One can only know about these benefits after using the card wisely.

            However, I finally tried using the add on card in Bangalore TFS Lounge.
            I used my card (Primary) to get access. After getting in, asked the Team at the reception to test the Addon Cards to check, if accesses are allowed on this addon cards. She tested – Two add on cards, i had handy – in her system and positively confirmed both Add on cards were eligible for Lounge Access. This was, even after the primary card was swiped for access. Testing Accomplished. 🙂

    Customer care support is absolutely to be rated in negative. Even after multiple ring there won’t be any response or always busy tone. Customer care executives will give only half information they won’t respond in English it would be difficult to explain and understand what exact trouble consumer is facing. web page is very bad not so easy to access it. Totally not satisfied with the service 😵

    The biggest questions of my life currently is that Does Eterna Credit Card provide 15 reward points per Rs. 100 spent *on all types of online transactions like online utility bill payments, wallet reloading*? Because on the website, they have mentioned the keyword – ”online shopping”. The sales team is saying that we will get 15 points on shopping/bill payments via ecommerce websites like Amazon/Flipkart etc but not on bill payments via Paytm/Payzapp/other wallet apps. But the Customer care team is saying that we will get 15 points for each and every online transaction no matter what. Someone please clarify this thoroughly. I request Mr Siddharth to get this card as soon as possible and verify the same himself.

        BOBFinancial Response – *Yes*, Eterna Credit Card Customer will get 15 reward points for every ₹100 spent on all ecommerce/online purchases. Customer can earn maximum 5000 reward points per statement on his/her spends across 4 spend categories eligible for 5X rewards feature.

            No, not via amazon because amazon comes under ecommerce category. One should try from paytm/payzapp etc.
            Moreover, believe me, BOBFinancial is one of the most generous credit card company, hence they will not stop giving 5x points on the mentioned category at least for the coming 3-4 years. I have thorough experience with their credit cards.

        All bank cards don’t charge for redemption of rewards, HDFC charges for online vouchers, gifts, which is a draw back. HDFC has different mindset, in redemption catalog based on card variants.

          I too got call from ASM exactly on 7th day from date of requesting through website and document is collected same day by his team and told will received card within 7-10 working days.

          They confirmed me that all online spending is eligible for 5x and when I asked about the credit limit, they told me since it’s premium card limit starts from 5L and goes upto 20L based on income proof submitted, CIBIL score and usage pattern in the future.

            Not yet, few days ago received application reference number and also I can see new enquiry on my CIBIL. When I checked the status of application it’s shown as under process, also asked the person who collected documents, he told processing is slow due to less staffs working in Mumbai office but BOB will send regular updates through SMS.

            Raised complaint to customer care, they confirmed application struck due to not clear photo copy of address proof. So I have shared the same and in next 2 days status changes to approved. But it seems stupid reason, even after their agent did home visit using old uploaded photo copy for address verification.

            Received the card today after ~45 days from date of document collection. In between application struck for ~30 days due to not clear photo copy but customer never informed about the same until customer follow up with customer care.

            It got stuck in some complications. “Should be cleared in a day” is what someone says, since past 20 days!!!

            I received application number on 10th November and apporoved on 14th November physical verification done on 12th verification is too hard and they click photo of home and surrounding. Lets see the limit of Eterna …applied with C2C basic with HDFC limit of 2,10,000. Let’s see the new limit card will received till 20th.

If you show only intrest on the website no early response from there side.

    Will wait for 1 or 2 months till i get full information regarding this card. The 5x points for online spends is not clear as which websites will be considered for the same. Also online payments of utility bills will be considered for 5x or not? Once it get cleared then apply.

      Correct, Infinia without Smartbuy (and also someone who uses credit cards only for rewards points/cashbacks/offers and not for premium facilities like Lounge access, Golf, concierge) then Eterna is much better for him than Infinia.

      I got a mail today from Radiance that they are offering this card as LTF. While applying online I was still asked to accept the 2.5k joining and annual fees. Not sure if they will hold up the LTF promotion mentioned in mail sent to radiance customers.

        Ok so Radiance customers are getting LTF, interesting… I guess if you have received the mail, you will get LTF only. What was written in the mail, application needs to be given in branch or online via personalised link? Because if it was a normal online link, then how will the portal know that you are a Radiance customer, so it doesn’t have to charge you fees?

        Doubt about Radiance : I need to get some info about Radiance Program, any way to reach out to you personally?

    Update after my experience on the application.
    Finally got the call, someone came and collected documents/application form filling formalities.
    Initially they said no points for insurance and later they indicated it does carry after I told customer care confirmed points for insurance.
    5k max for 5x, rest no cap – as per them -just for online, which is good
    Customer care says no points for POS, however person co ordinating says 5 per 100-clueless as of now.

      No, BOBFinancial online transactions can only be performed via OTP on registered mobile number. Add-on cards OTP will also go on Primary card holder mobile number only.

    I just saw their promo flier which clearly mentions “eCommerce” spends and not online spends. Even their website mentions “online shopping.” I don’t think we will get 15 points for any online spends or at least BOB will restrict this going forward.

    Folks who are using Eterna card now, please confirm if we get 15 points /Rs 100 for *ANY* online spends like wallet loading, rent payment, utility payment, NPS, insurance (these are the categories where most card issuers would have any restriction) other than only “eCommerce” or “online shopping.” Sales rep or customer care people mostly won’t know the complete features and can be misleading.

    So I called up the Eterna Helpline they gave me an email id to send the request for an upgrade
    Did send in the request, they asked for an income proof above 12L because my earlier card was processed on card to card basis.
    Shared everything on 23rd October and on 26th October received an SMS for successful upgradation.
    Now awaiting my upgraded card soon in a weeks time

        No. I am not present in my address proof location and also I’m having doubts on the 15 points for online spends in medium-long term so it is okay if I don’t have this card and hence choose not to do anything about it.

        In my case, it went for more than a week under process and i had to call up bank to check; they informed it got stuck at some stage, today it shows approved – hope it doesn’t get stuck anywhere and I receive the card 🙂

    Finally got this credit card. Applied on C2C basis giving Kotak Credit Card Statement of 2L. First application was rejected may be because I have 26 active Credit Cards. I called the guy who collected documnets and shared my Cibil and Experian Credit score. He discussed with Manager. In next week I got approval of Card.

      I got this card today. This is my 20th Active credit card. Immediately I fell in love with welcome kit. It is in a leather pouch with beautifully designed welcome booklet. There is a personalized wallet as well. Only disappointment is that name is printed on card (Not embossed). I suspect it may erase soon. Otherwise card looks great with some 3D effects too. 3.75% rewards on travel & dining (Offline & online) & on all other online spends. (As of now). Even if it stays for 6 months, its worth it completely considering we get 10K bonus points along with Joining fee waiver.

    Soo a capping of Rs 1000 cash monthly is pretty underwhelming (ignoring the 0.75 % cashback as it’s very less)

Guess BOB Financials aren’t so generous like HDFC, AMEX, Axis, Yes Bank, etc when it comes to credit limit, which might change/ increase with usage. Got call from Credit card officer who processed my application regarding Office address and home address in different cities, explained her about WFH situation and she agreed. Ironically, they have generated my first statement with annual fee before card delivery.

    Got my BOB Eterna Card on 03 Nov and same day got a message from BOB that statement for OCT month has been generated. Please pay 2948.82/- before 20 Nov.
    Now I want to know from which date the spends will be calculated for Joining fees waiver.
    Also, this spend 50,000 in first 60 days of the year to get 10000 bonus points will be calculated from which date?

          Login to Netbanking > Payment & Statements > Transactions > Unbilled / Unsettled. If that transaction is showing under Unbilled and not under Unsettled, then only reward points will be updated.

      Yes, if they are giving 15 reward points for all online transactions, then rent pay will surely qualify for the same.

    Applied online on OCT 16th, Received call from local guy for collection of ducuments on 17th. Collected documents on 19th. Received call from local office on 20th. Received SMS with application number on 26th. status showed under process. within 5 days received call from head centre ( ? Ahmedabad ) for verification. in 3 more days application status turned as card approved and will be despatched in 5 days.
    Waiting for card.

      Yesterday received the card with limit of 3L, in a nice box packing . Inside there is a leather wallet like the one which we receive with yes first account. we can self register for net banking and can generate pin online. The net interface is clean and navigate easily for anything ( unlike yes bank which is clumsy ). Card working seamlessly.

      The front side of card is just having the names only. Strangely first time i found, the card number printed on mag. strip side . Its not embossed. If the number embossed on front side with golden letters, would have given a premium feel.
      There is no contactless symbol. So I think this is not NFC enabled. not yet experimented.
      Inside online portal, there is option to enable / disable domestic/ international usage. We can set separate limit for POS/ CNP/ ATM. This is always per transaction. ( Not per day/ month/cumulative ) . This is good security feature.
      For online transactions card works only with OTP. There is no Mastercard secure code feature.
      We can apply for add on card from inside online portal by uploading details and id card.

    I made a qualifying spend about 5 days ago, which has been posted but the reward points still show as Zero and joining fees has also not been reversed yet!
    Hopefully it will be done by next statement date.

        Tanmay – Most of us have been using credit cards for a while now and understand the difference between settled and unsettled transactions – Thanks for repeatedly conveying it nevertheless.

        The transaction (dated 4th Nov) was settled on 6th Nov itself. However, reward point tab still shows as Zero.
        I called up the cust care and he mentioned that at his end he was able to see RP posted as 1,002 points for an online (insurance category) transaction of Rs 33,400 i.e. 3 RP per 100.
        I told him as this was an online transaction, it should have fetched 15 RPs per 100 i.e. 5000 RPs and moreover, why is it not reflecting on the portal. He did not have an answer and told me to drop an email.
        Annual fees also has not been reversed till now and the rep mentioned that it will be done in the 4th billing cycle.
        Fingers crossed – not sure what will happen here!

          2. Fee reversal will reflect in the 4th bill statement from the card issuance month, provided all due payments are made.
          3. You may ask the CRM team to rectify the error in their system. Once the issue is resolved at backend, rewards points in BOBFinancial Netbanking will reflect as and when transaction is settled.

            I also said 5 days have passed since the transaction and also that it is posted.
            Posted means settled in card terminology and 5 days is too long for transaction to not settle.
            Please see your comments you have been making again and again on the settled and unsettled thing even though others have also clearly said no points even after transaction was settled.
            The fact as I now understand is that the RPs are not posted for BOB upon settlement; rather it happens after statement generation.
            Appreciate if you comment only after knowing the truth and not confuse others.
            You seem to be too eager to market this card without yourself being fully aware of the features – I wonder why. Going by your timeline on this page, even your first statement would not have generated yet (if at all you have this card) and still you are pushing this card so frivolously!
            Not here to fight – but just wanted to clarify.

          Got a revert from BOB cards today stating that the incremental reward points will be posted after 2 billing cycles.
          So, it’s 4 billing cycles for annual fee reversal and 2 billing cycles for incremental 4x reward points.
          Seems they have taken a leaf from HDFC in such practice – another one to track in excel now.

            No, I am using BOB Card since two years and for me RPs gets posted immediately after transactions settlement i.e before statement generation (and I guess it is irrespective of the card variant you use). As far as I remember, even I had this problem of RPs not reflecting correctly in my netbanking during the initial days but after complaining to CRM team, it was rectified, Didn’t knew that this problem exists even in 2020 for all new customers too.
            Why would I market this card, the reason for which I am/was excited about this card is that very few people have info about the BOBFinancial cards (unlike HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis cards etc) since its at a nascent stage and according to me they had launched a good card that’s why I was very much excited to provide all the information I have regarding BOB Cards. That’s it.

          But since your first card is a secured one, they might offer you Eterna separately. I think if you are eligible, either you will be upgraded or given Eterna separately.. so yeah.. wait till application approval, you will get to know.

      Yaa you can get this card on card to card basis but you have another card of more then 2 lacks limit and 1 year old & also let you now as according to their internal policy they are not intrested in self employed only approve for self employed if they have have banking relation with them.

    Done all kind of transactions, Offlie, Online Utility etc. The reward points in the dashboard is 0 Zero. Where as go to > Request > Reward point redemption. .. There its showing only 1X received. Need to wait till statement generation.
    They gave leather wallet like one for add on card also.

    Finally got the card approved today.
    Applied almost 12days ago, was Under Process since then after I dropped email yesterday to both Support & Grievance mail address and today they approved the card.
    CIBIL Enquiry was visible on 3rd day after submitting the application.

    Applied on C2C basis using HDFC card. No tele, no physical verification nothing.
    Not even submitted documents physically, everything online through an agent. No income proofs, no office email verification as well. Seems good CIBIL score made it easy for bank to approve without any other checks.

    Only downside is process took time for card approval but application process is smooth and convenient.
    Waiting for the card now shall be delivered in 5 days.

    Will update more on card usage/rewards review etc. post using the card.

        I think CIBIL is not so useful after a certain limit. For the past year my CIBIL has ranged from 776-785. WIth current one being 782 (checked using HDFC login) annnnd i’ve been denied axis flipkart and axis freecharge cards. Even Usage doesn’t matter in CIBIL (tried the simulation) and i cross 50-60% of total combined credit limit of different cards.

        Thoughts?

    Any one experienced and can confirm if BoB is actually giving 5x points for any type of online txn (like wallet loading, PayZapp, insurance pmt, utility spends, rent payment etc)
    Also, will dining be defined as dining at any restaurant of our choice or only at their partner outlets?
    I believe online food ordering on Swiggy etc will be considered as Online spend?
    How would Travel be defined for the purpose of 5x points? Also, will Uber / Ola spend also be considered as Travel Spend?

      Infact put all major expenses on the card
      You can also take an free add on card so that you and add on member can collectively make purchases to reach milestone

      Can’t reply to your comment done on 16th july so replying here. Max per card limit of PayTm Zomato/Swiggy loads in 10,000. You CAN NOT circumvent this using 2 paytm accounts or loading using swiggy/zomato.

      Also per other comment the success rate of BoB rewarding PayTm loads is 90%

    Something weird happening with Eterna. I’ve got charged 36% GST instead of 18% for foreign conversion charges. I spent some money on Decathalon, another e-commerce through RazorPay, and done 94K worth of foreign transactions through PayPal. At present, I’ve got only the 10k bonus points and 0.75% points for the entire sum spent. No 5X yet on any of the transactions. Also, the reversal of the 2499 card fee is not yet reflected either. Hoping to get it all rectified or clarified soon from the CRM.

        GST got reversed fully along with the 2% currency conversion charges, as of now! Not sure whether it’s a mistake or a gesture from the BOB team. Extremely happy with how it turned out even though it took a month.

        Got card reversal and 4700 Bonus points (300 points was reduced because a 2000 Rs transaction was refunded). I had used the card for 112K hoping that I’d get more than 5000 reward points if the last single transaction exceeds the limit as what another user in this forum(Tanmay Lodha) says. But that’s not the case. I got a total of 4700+3358 rewards points for the 112K transaction made.

    I got 3.75% reward rate for all online transactions(rent, bill pay tried everything). points credited after statement generation. another weird thing is that, though 5000 cap is mentioned but i got 5X for all transaction well above the cap. Maybe it is adjusted later on.

      Might be because of this — The max capping on accelerated rewards is 5000 points per month but if the transaction is made within the 5000 points monthly 5x cap, then full spend amount will receive 5 reward points which will lead you to earn more than 5000 points (via 5x rule) in a month.

    A very mixed feeling experience applying for this card. First the positives:

    I was mightily and pleasantly surprised on the adoption of digital solutions by a PSB. The whole process was run electronically and i did not receive any calls, physical visits or even physical document collection. (A first for any bank i have seen)
    Process was run by Signzy and Legality which processed forms etc.

    Now the weird part:
    I applied on the website on 23 Oct which took authorization of mobile and submitted by documents online. On 27 Oct i was invited for a e-signing of forms which were done through e-aadhar method. All fine till now.
    29 Oct I received a message giving out my application number saying it is under process and instantly logging in bobfinancial tracking website returned my application is rejected. Slightly taken aback(never received rejection) I ignored and let go off the card as it anyway wasn’t going to be my primary card.

    For some strange reason on 3rd December I received another message with a new application number mentioning my card is under process. 5 December received another message inviting for a vKYC which essentially is a video call to BOB centralized team with any 3-4 desks who then verified my details physically(or virtually rather) over video call,stuff like PAN card, signature verification and electronic aadhar verification for address purposes.

    Another 1 week wait and today tracking returned card approved and to be dispatched in 5 days.

    Kudos to you Siddharth. Had you not covered it, this card would never have been on my radar. Lately they are running good offline and online offers.

      Glad to hear, I was the first one who wrote mail to Siddharth requesting him to post review on BOBFinancial credit cards, with the only motive that people are not much aware their cards and I felt they are really doing a good job despite being a PSU. Only thing they need to improve is their customer support. Rest everything seems good going.

      On the online application, there is Income proof dropdown: It has i) 2 months bank statement or ii) Competition card front+statement upload options.
      I felt Card front copy is risky. So applied using Bank statement.

      Offline I spoke to Sales guys, everyone is saying competition card front copy is must for C2C basis.

      Yesterday, I have faced the same page struck as you mentioned after completing my video kyc. Then I closed the page after some time. Today, I enquired abt the application status which I got earlier, it showed as ” your BOB credit card has been approved wrt reference no. xxxxx and it will be dispatched in 5 working days”. But, sad to know that they haven’t sent a sms regarding card approval until I queried on website. BTW I am now atleast.

    Hi. Suggestiin required from forum members. My application was not approved despite CIBIL score of 835 and high credit limit on other card when applied on c2c basis although my itr is also good but i didn’t apply through that. They mention due to internal policies we are not approving your application and they mention “we will be happy to consider your application when you apply again with updated financial information at a later date.” What else should i do to get my application reconsidered or when to reapply.       Clear your report of any errors.
      Keep your balances low for the next 3-4 months.

          Go through your report and see if there are any errors like a loan/card not taken/owned by you yet showing on report or a loan/card closed by you but not updated as closed in report. Those need to be fixed by raising a dispute on CIBIL site/writing to other credit bureaus.
          Some times the banks require you to open an account with them, preferably with a decently high initial cheque amount, and continued transactions for a month or three & thereafter offer/approve your card.

          Witz, looks like our applications got rejected because we dont have BoB Savings account. Bhoom comment above on Dec 19th mentioned it as a pre-requisite for Eterna.

          I wonder why BoB cant make it explicitly clear instead of wasting Customer’s time.

          Anyway, I will create a Savings account and try again. Eterna is too good to be missed.

            I have Vijaya bank account now BOB although I don’t do any transactions. Maybe i used c2c basis not itr or may be i am in tier 2 city. I tried reviewing my application by asking manager level but received exactly same reply today again. I think will have to wait 3-4 months although i can’t improve my cibil of 835 or itr any further.

            I got Eterna without any other relationship with BoB. So account is not mandatory to have Eterna card.

            I think it depends on the bank branch processing your card. For me whole process was online and smooth.

    Applied for the card online on 7th November. Video KYC done on 5th December. Card shipped on 22nd December. Arriving on the 23d. Smooth process, with no need for physical document hand over.

    Much better than HDFC’s card application process. Got rejected by HDFC for both Regalia and Diners Black, even after providing physical documents with Bank Statements (dinged my credit score as a result). I already had an Amex Platinum Reserve for more than 8 years. Baffled why they rejected it. No reason provided by HDFC even though annual Salary was way above their requirements.

      HDFC honestly seems to me at that stage where they just don’t give a f*ck anymore. Also, the nature of how their applications approval work internally, a lot has to do with the RM you are assigned. If you have an aggressive, go getter RM, he can even get borderline cases passed through the officers in Chennai. Some RMs on the other hand are not able to get even the high NW accounts approved for Regalia as it happened in your case.

      I’m going through the same right now and that’s another reason why I gave up on Diners Black and going with Eterna.

    For those who are holding DCB, is there any particular type of transaction where this card could be really beneficial? 10X Insta vouchers/5X Amazon/3X Flipkart for DCB covers most of the spectrum for online spending.

    The only use case where Eterna may be beneficial is Rent and Insurance, where again DCB keeps releasing offers and currently has 2X and 3X schemes respectively. Other utility bills can again be paid via Amazon Insta voucher.

    For wallet loads, i would prefer a combo of Amex MRCC and BOB Select rather than BOB Eterna.

    I recieved my card on 19 december, paid rent via payzapp for amount of rs. 54000.
    Now, first statement has been generated on 1 jan 2021.
    * In the first statement, joining fees along with GST has been charged and then reversed (spend criteria)
    *10000 bonus points have been added ( spend criteria, 50000 in first 60 days)
    *For my above payment, I received 15 points per rs. 100 spent, with max cap of 5000 FOR ACCELERATED REWARD POINTS. For calculation sake, base reward points 540 * 3=1620, accelerated reward points 540*12=6480, but restricted to max 5000, so total points given were 1620+5000=6620. Because of this calculation, it appears that they have given extra points as mentioned by some uses earlier.
    So, I think good beginning for this card.

      Check your December spends. You would have received both regular and accelerated in same statement. That would sum up correctly.

      You got the points correctly. Max capping is always on the incremental points and is exclusive of base rewards points.
      So if 12x points exceeds 5K then you will only get 5K as incremental points + the base (3x) points are always unlimited.
      1620 as base 3x points + 5000 as 12x incremental points = correct points issued and credited to you.

    @Sid – please advise what should I do ?

    I applied online for Eterna on a Card to Card basis and successfully uploaded all the required documents.
    Did my VKYC successfully, and then get a rejection message which also stated the following:

    “If you believe that we have missed something or misread your information or if you have any additional information like additional income, etc. that you wish to submit that might influence our decision, please feel free to mail us at ccb [at] bobfinancial.com and we will be happy to consider the same.”

    I fail to understand which updated financial information is BOB referring to, because I applied on a C2C basis and not basis my financial information.

    Have been writing (rather have escalated also) to them seeking clarification on this but they are not interested to reply.

When I tried to go through the video kyc link again, it is throwing the error application is pending at client side but not going forward any more. what to do in this situation.     Bill generated on Dec 1st ( for spends of November ) I just received 1X rewards.
    But in bill generated on Jan 1st ( for spends of December ) I received up to dated 5X rewards for all online spends including utility and wallet fillings, including pending November rewards, also Bonus 10000 for milestone 50000/- spends .
    Annual fee also reversed including GST in the current month bill.
    So far a nice card.

    Thanks for the comprehensive review. Cards like SC Ultimate or ICICI Amazon Pay offer a flat reward rate of 3.3% and 1% respectively for ALL except fuel spends. Whereas, the Eterna appears to be vague and restricted to online/dining/international. What if I did a transaction at a hospital or at a pharmacy or at Tanishq ? Is a flat reward rate guaranteed ?

    Received my card today but unable to register it at the BoB portal. Upon calling customer care (call connected after 10-15 tries), I was informed that it’s a back end issue and many customers are facing the same problem. Due to this, card is not usable and even pin cannot be set.

    Anyone facing the same or has any solution? I have dropped a mail to the dedicated Eterna email ID.

    BOB Eterna site now says –
    “Please note that 5X Rewards are capped at 1,000 Reward Points on the mentioned categories per month. Further spends in that month on these categories will earn Reward Points at the regular earn rate.”

    Does anyone know if this has this changed now or this is a typo?

      My source says it’s “likely an error”.

      This happened before too when they updated the support # wrongly by mistake. It took a week for them to update after complaining about it. So let’s wait for a week and see.

    My view after going through the details of the card. At first I was amazed that 4%+ cash reward rate and decided to go. However after the deep dive analysis, decided to give miss for below reasons.

    1. The 10000 reward points within 60 days is for 1st year only. So the milestone benefit is 1% and not 1.5%
    2. Spending 41,667 every month in online category won’t give us 75,000 reward points as the accelerated reward points per month are restricted to 5000 only which is 33,333 monthly spend. For rest we would get 3 reward points and the total reward points would be 63,000. So the overall value including milestone benefit would be 4.06% including milestone benefit.
    3. The overall benefit of 4.06% still sounds good.. Isn’t. However it is not for multiple reason.
    a) The above is assuming 41,667 every month and out of which 33,333 accelerated reward category.
    b) For most of the the accelerated categories such as dining, travel, shopping (Amazon, flipkart etc..) and others we already have better reward rates than above (That too without too many restrictions ).

    SId – The card may look good for 1st year as there won’t be any annual fee and additional 10000 reward points but the long run benefits are not lucrative. Looking at that the 4.7 rating seems very high. You may want o reconsider it.

      Can you suggest any other card with a default reward rate of 3.75% on online spends?

      Also, the amount mentioned by Sid is correct. You get accelerated reward points till 41667 (technically 41700) as the cap of 5000 applies to bonus points and not regular points. So for 41700 spend, one would get 1251 regular points and 5K (1251*4= 5004points capped at 5K). Hence, 6750 points / month, resulting into 75000/ year.

      95K points each year on 5 lac spend = 4.75% return in total.

        Pratik – Pls check the T&C on the website. It’s 15 reward points for online purchase and capped at 5000 points.

        We can easily get more than 3.75% benefits by using Infinia or Diners black. Using the jnsta voucher , you can easily earn upto 33% ( you get 16.5% even if you get Amazon voucher which is equal to cash)…SC ultima also gives 3.3% benefit which is quite close and without any restriction such as online etc..

          Umesh, you may like to check the TnC again.

          Using the card since October and I am very certain on the fact that 5K limit is for 4x points and hence the sweet spot is 41667 / 41700. Accumulated more than 40K points in 5 months.

          I am mostly using the card where there are no card based specific offers (like SWIGGYIT, Zomato/ Dominoz sometimes).

          While I agree to the fact that Infinia and DCB gives 33% return. For categories where 10x is not available, BOB fares better as 3.75%/ 4.75% is net cash return whereas for Infinia/ DCB/ SCBU, it is in the form of points.

    Finally my card got approved and now delivered. I applied again with different contact details but now using the ITR option and not the C2C and also mentioned the employee id of branch rep in case if there is any query/ recommendation from my home branch. The status was “in process” for 3 weeks sent mail to CRM and finally in another week it got approved. I have made my first transaction on 30jan itself to utilize this month as may be my bill will get generated by 1st feb. Thanks Sid, Shivi and others.

        They have corrected the Points.
        For Phonepe Wallet loading, Amazon Pay wallet loading, Payzapp Wallet loading or bill pay, earlier 5X points were credited. Now they have rolled them back. Only for Paytm and Mobikwik the 5X points are not rolled back till now. Someone else can check and correct me.

            Go to request tab and then click on redeem reward point. You will be able to see the reward points there. I have received my card a week back and made transaction for around 46K, once they were in unbilled section, Redeem tab shows around 6300 points which seems correct, (5000 + 46000*3/100 ~ 6328)

    I got my card on 24th Feb, have made spends around 40k (paytm mall).
    But I’ve not gotten any statement.. Neither it’s showing on the BoB portal.
    I have some other online spends to do.. so unsure weather to use this card (as monthly accelerated rewards are on 33.34k – 3.75%) or my other card Axis Ace (flat 2%)

    One of the weirdest Credit card application I have had till date.

    – Didnt want to apply online as I wanted to catch hold of a bank person to follow up personally. So called up the biggest branch in city. They gave a number of 3rd party “lady” and said to call her as they have outsourced Credit card applications

    – Called up the lady. She was just like the usual telemarketers calling /spamming selling us credit cards

    – She offered Eterna immediately without me having to mention it or asking my details. I said OK

    – She asked to send ID proofs, existing credit card (I disabled all transactions for a few weeks to be safe), its statement, etc by whatsapp

    – She said she will fill up the form herself (and sign on my behalf looking at my PAN!!!)

    – She said if people call for verification, dont tell them you applied via whatsapp but by visiting branch (uh??)

    – After a week, got call from BOB verification but missed it as I was in a meeting. Tried calling them back but it was a one way line so would not connect

    – After a week, card got approved. No re-verification call, no physical verification, no video KYC. (Note: I dont hold a savings account with BOB)

    – Received the card. All good. LOL

      My Yes First Preferred was exactly the same way.
      Coming to Eterna, After the article published here, I showed interest online. Got a call from BOB executive, he mentioned I can’t get Eterna (not meeting the salary criteria) but can get lower variant which I declined.
      Later I saw few members posted C2C is possible. But even after repeated requests from many, no one provided the procedure. So I had to find that myself and applied against my HDFC Infinia on 16th Feb, uploaded all the documents. VKYC completed on 18th Feb. But for the next 7 days, it was showing ‘Under process’.
      On 25th Feb, wrote a mail to eterna CC.
      On 27th Feb, it was showing approved (and will be dispatched within 5 days).
      on 2nd Mar, again wrote a mail since the status was still the same. Same day, received mail & message about courier details.
      On 3rd Mar (today), received the e-statement (Cr limit is 1/5th of my Infinia)

    Holding salary account with Vijaya Bank(now BoB), called up manager and expressed interest for ETERNA. He sent an agent within half an hour, collected signed application & documents .

    2nd day got CIBIL hit 4th day SMS showing application under process , to my surprise name was spelled wrongly. didn’t take any action.

    after a week , got verification call.

    immediately after the call, next CIBIL hit happened. SMS received telling application under process, different application number this time. (seems they have realised spelling mistake in name and created another application – which costed me this additional CIBIL hit) .

    the very next day, application status was showing approved in website, no sms..

    another 4 days, despatch message, next day delivery., overall process took 10-12 days.

    packaging was very nice. credit limit was disappointing though, half of what AMEX gave me with same documents.

      I have tested eterna card bill payment via cred – via cred upi, Amazon, google pay.. It took time but it can be checked online in recent transactions in credit card website.. In some occasion, the payment failed but cred refunded..

    For free lounge access, I had used eterna card twice in GVK lounge access in Mumbai T2 airport,probably in Dec 2020, feb 2021..but today when I tried the message was ‘ not honoured’ .. Pin was correct.. I was confused.I have guessed the reason but not commenting as I am not sure..

      I have my Diner’s Black statement with 7.74 lakhs limit and I got 3 lakhs from BOB. A friend gave HDFC’s credit card statement having about 3 lakhs limit and got BOB Select. So yes Rs. 6 lakhs isore than enough for Eterna.

            If your card delivery is delayed. Call the customer care and ask them to give you the card number and card expiry date. They will not give the CVV, but it not be required for doing the payment. That is what I did in Jan.

    Hi, I’ve been thinking of getting this card for the 15x points. From the messages here, i understand that wallet loads don’t get the bonus points anymore, so payzapp+rent payment is out. But i couldn’t find clarity on utility bill payments. Do they still get the 5x points. rent payment done directly on nobroker without going through payapp would get the bonus points or not

    I have received 5X points on paying rent via redgirraffe and payzapp, as well as via nobroker as well as via cred rent pay. I did not get 5X points for paying LIC premium, but submitting a complaint and progressively escalating it, I have been assured in writing via email that I would be getting remaing 4X points in next statement .

    I just received my card today.
    Do online insurance spends qualify for 15x? I believe this question has been asked a lot of times but no clear answers. Would be grateful if someone can throw some light on it.
    With the confusion for 15x that’s around, I am thinking may be getting this card was a mistake. On the other hand, reward structure with a card like SC Ultimate is so plain n simple. 3.3% on any spend, be it online, offline, fuel, NPS, wallet load etc. Probably will spend the 50k to get fee waver and 10k bonus and be done with it after a year. Will
    Rethink only if the transparency in 15x increases. Cheers

    I have recently received my card and going by the confusion that’s around I am in two minds whether to continue with it or not.
    My other card SC Ultimate is no nonsense as I have received 3.33% points for any transaction, be it insurance, NPS, online/offline spends, fuel etc.

    May be I ll just keep this card and spend 50k for the fee waver and 10K bonus points and then be done with it.

    And for July transactions I can only see 1x reward points added in the portal as of yet.

    Basically I am a Diners Black user. But shifted most of my spends to this card to achieve 5L target. Because of this I could not achieve my annual target on DCB, ended up paying 10K + Taxes. So the effective reward rate reduced very much.
    So unless you are confident enough that you can spend 5L +5L (for DCB), or 8L+5L (for Infinia) on both cards, Don’t opt for this.
    I’m reverting back to DCB. Will keep this as secondary card, as long as is free.

    Okay.
    Am also contemplating to surrender this card after first year (pls refer to my detailed comment above).
    As per customer care only “e-commerce” transactions would get 3.75% cash back.
    I don’t think I ll be able to reach 2.5 L/annum purely on e-commerce spends. And spending on other categories @0.75% to reach any of the milestones (2.5 or 5) is such a waste. I agree with previous comments, we are better off with Amazon/FK cobranded cards.

        Hi Apurv,
        As far as I understand, insurance spends do not qualify for 15x rewards. However, in case you wanna give a try then best bet is to pay via amazon so that transaction reflects as Amazon Pay in the card statement. Do let us know in case you were able to get 15x rewards. Thanks

            Go ahead with premium payment on paytm. Sounds to be a good deal.

          I’m using zomato for paytm wallet loads. For almost 90% of my wallet loads via zomato I’m getting 15x.
          For bill payments via amazon, I paid 2 electricity bills this month, got 15x on one and 3x on the other🙁. 3x on mobile postpaid bill payment as well.
          Also, not getting 15x on Tanishq golden harvest and shopping via zara.com.

Already been 15 days no response, have raised a complaint lets see what resolution I get. Do we have a portal aside from the regular portal where I can redeem reward points

      You can call the call centre and get the points redeemed. That’s the only way it works.

      Yeah..
      It sure gives some percentage better than the default rates on cashkaro on whatever merchants are available.
      Just make sure that if you don’t automatically get tracked for cashback to raise a ticket on 8th-9th day otherwise the cashback will be lost.

      They’ve changed major tech in the backend and this is delaying the process. I was said that it should be reading in couple of days.

      Btw they show the stmt summary from yesterday on netbanking.

    Seems in this process of tech upgrade, they have missed posting a couple of my transactions this July.
    Doesn’t show up in the statement or under unbilled/unsettled transactions either.
    I don’t know whether I should be happy or sad because now I willl have to spend that much extra for meeting the annual spend threshold of 5 lacs for 20k bonus points.

      Do check with support once.

      Have happened with me even before this upgrade went live. But it eventually showed up on the stmt.
      Recently even failed txns are showing on unsettled, so I think they’ve various issues.

      Btw such issues even happened once with Amex and they billed it exactly after 30 days. Wonder how these critical payment systems have such flaws!

      My missing transaction finally showed up in the September statement.
      However, as I had feared I haven’t received 15 RPs on this transaction as the total spend in previous month already was higher than the cap of 5000 RPs.
      When I wrote to customer care telling them this transaction actually related to July and not August, they just sent me a standard response as Suman has highlighted below (that the transaction was not eligible for 15 RPs as incorrect merchant code received).
      Wrote back 3 times since then and no one responds now.
      Will surrender this card after I receive my 20k milestone points hopefully next mnth.

    My Card Joining Fee wasn’t reversed though I did spent much more than required criteria. I raised a complaint (after 4 statement generation) on 6th June. After approx 1 week, it’s showing in the site as: ‘Recommend for Approval’ with a green tick. But even after another 2 months, the fee isn’t yet reversed.

      No option to see per transaction, so yes need to track on your own then tally when statement generated or against points posted after T+3 for each transaction.

    With reference to the trail mail we would like to inform you that the 5x points are based on the MCC code received against the transaction from the acquirer bank. Please refer to the terms and condition mentioned on our website regarding the said criteria which is as below:-

    5X Rewards Terms & Condition

    • For crediting 5X Reward Points on eligible transactions, the Credit Card issuer (BOB Financial in this case) relies on the correct International/online flag or Merchant Category Code (MCC) identifier provided by the merchant acquirer (provider of the card acceptance service to the merchant). These flags/identifiers are as per rules laid out by the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay etc.). If the merchant acquirer does not send the flag/identifier or sends an incorrect flag/identifier, BOB Financial will not be able to identify such transactions as eligible transaction for 5X reward points benefit, resulting in awarding of only regular Reward Points (and not 5X) on such transactions.

    • Posting of additional Reward points is an automated process and the same will reflect in the next monthly statement.

    As we didnot received the said MCC from the concerned merchant/aquirer due to which 5x points is not given against the said transaction.

      This is the reply they give when you raise any complaint regarding reward points. I twice recieved 15 points per 100 spent for paying rent on regirraffe via payzapp, but on one occasion I was given regular 3 points and was given the above reply on raising the query that too after multiple reminders and escalations.
      If you are lucky you get 15 points, otherwise be satisfied with 3, Bobfinancial seems to have washed its hands off the matter

        Agreed. Same with me. I have stopped using it for Red giraffe transactions completely. But even on Dining, I sometimes get, and sometimes dont.

        I had raised this matter to all escalation teams 3 months ago. After around ten reminders, yet to get a reply from any one.

        Its a hit and miss to use this card.

    This card and BOB Financial is neither a premium segment one and its a complete waste of time using this card for whatever the rewards they claim to give. Website is bad, customer care is good for nothing and I think you’re better off not using this card unless you want to waste your time following up with them for each and every reward point.

    My eterna application was rejected due to RBI’s ban and now out of no where the same was application was approved. Thinking its an error I let it go but they delivered an EASY Rupay CREDIT CARD in the mail today. BoB has gone crazy how did they manage to do that is beyond me.

    I have sent them a mail for the same and asked them to cancel this card of an `eye sore.

      UPDATE: After 3 months CRM responded back saying that I was given the card as eligble to me based on my internal score and bank policies. Thus they cant upgrade the card to eterna and if required I can recheck with them after a years time.

      This is all great but my application had a HDFC Infinia with a 13lac CL as the card for C2C application on which they sent a EASY CC that is quite something. The real question is do I cancel this EASY card and try for Eterna or try for upgrade after an year.

        Don’t cancel the card !! You would definitely get an upgrade within 10-12 months from the date of your existing card issuance !!

        I was told by CS that NO docs are required for upgrading after 12 months but you can try your luck post 9-10 months by mailing them your itr, especially if it’s over 12L p.a instead of another CC statement. Hopefully the upgrade will be a breeze !!

        From what I have been able to gather from from my own experience, friends & associates is that BOB is kind of cautious initially, however build a good history with them & they are normally very generous with these kinda requests !

        Also they are notoriously famous for very low limits initially but their approval rate is very high !! Surprisingly my limit with BOB is less than 25% of my next lowest limit on my Amex Plat Travel !

    Yes – I completed 1 year on October 30th and already completed 5 lacs spend before that.
    But haven’t yet received the 20k bonus points.
    Upon raising the issue, the customer care said it will be posted in December statement. Now that has also come and still no bonus points.
    I write back to them and now they aren’t responding.
    Very frustrating card service.
    Its such a waste of time.

      Update:
      I raised a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman regarding non fulfillment of 20k RP milestone on BOB Eterna.
      The very next day I got a revert from customer care on my old complaint saying that they have now forwarded my email to their concerned team to check the details.
      4 days later I got an email that they have verified and I am eligible for the bonus RPs and that it will be posted in Feb 1 statement.
      Today, when I checked netbanking, the 20k points have already been posted.
      So you’ve got to fight for it, it seems else they don’t care.

      Nevertheless, it is still better than HDFC or Amazon Pay who have in the past ignored by Ombudsman complaint as well. At least BoB fears the Ombudsman possibly because of being a PSU.

    Whenever you call always they say that the systems are upgrading or some Technical glitch in the systems …… etc as Excuse.
    Useless Card and Worst customer care.

    BOB has reversed my annual fees for Eterna card in the current month statement.
    My card completed 1 year in December, and bank has charged annual fees of 2499 + GST as I missed spending 2.5lacs spend criteria by some thousands to get the fee waiver.

    Requested BOB customer care on the call as well as email for Fee reversal but they totally denied without any consideration.
    But surprisingly got one email in last week of December that charges on my card has been reversed and will reflect in Jan statement which actually reflected yesterday in statement received.

    So can say good new year gift from BOB as I have already saved good amount of money in last 1 year as part of 15x rewards on online spends.

    Recieved my LTF Eterna, on VISA INFINITE. Applied at local bank branch in Dec 1st week, card delivered Dec last week, no verification calls or visits.
    Other than card feature of paytm 1+1 movie, it has visa infinite benefit on bookmyshow as well.
    All milestones as applicable on paid version or mastercard version are applicable on Visa infinite variant as well.
    LTF offer ends 31March.

    I don’t know the eligibility criteria of this card, I applied for this card not showing under the eligible cards list. My current Citibank credit limit is nearly 9 lakhs and my CIBIL score is 807. These guys offer other basic cards with a credit limit of l lakh.
    Totally a waste of time applying

      Sarath, my last comment not approved yet, but just want to add that I got the card LTF (visa infinite) in Dec, 3 weeks after applying at local bank branch. One of the executives mentioned 30L income criteria required for LTF. After providing usual documents, there were no verification calls or visits, directly received the card in 3 weeks.

        So far only you have mentioned about LTF Eterna. Do you have BOB savings account? I called customer care and they mentioned that Eterna LTF is available only if you have savings account and the criterion is just 12LPA.

        Twitter is running much behind saying it’s not being issued due to master card ban. They don’t know about visa infinite yet.

          Hi Raja, I did open a savings account for some reasons and applied for Eterna the same day, and I only keep min balance in that account. Infact card application was submitted first and then account opening. The card executive didn’t mention of any BoB account requirement. Even I m bit surprised no one else is talking of Visa Eterna on cardexpert yet, even when it’s being issued LTF. Couple of folks have corroborated on 30Lpa income requirement for (LTF) Eterna in other cardexpert pages, while BoB website still mentions 12Lpa.

    CAUTION: Don’t use insurepay app for BoB card payment:

    BoB was promoting credit card payment vis insurepay app earlier and I was using the same for many months without any issues. Advantages being, i) Instant credit ii) Wallets accepted .

    Have made a payment of 50K in Dec 16th which was acknowledged almost instantly by BoB SMS as “amount received, will be received upon clearance from authorised bank”.

    But ,in the bill generated the said amount is shown as credit and then debited shown as “WRONG CREDIT” . (No late payment charges , instead the debit amount is shown as “other purchases”.)

    complained to Level 1 & 2 escalations, no reply received till date.

    interestingly the said amount is still showing in card transaction as credit, but amount overdue is not adjusted.

    Now I seriously doubt, insurepay is a fraud app, reasons being i) Customer care number is not reachable ii)No reply to emails iii) BoB removed credit card payment option from the APP.

    Whatever be my fate, i will equally blame BoB for the same. They have promoted the app, the app was able to fetch bill details from their database , which made it ‘look genuine’.

    Not sure how to proceed , no reply to escalation emails to BoB.

      Apply for their premier / Easy card & upgrade to Eterna Post One year, it’s a guaranteed upgrade without having to supply any additional docs . Additionally you can apply for a limit enhancement too !!

    I have visited BoB branch yesterday. To my surprise they were adamant to open savings account to get any credit card. I asked them for Eterna LTF. They said Eterna is not LTF in any case. Can anyone help me out getting Eterna LTF? My annual income is 25Lac.

      Keep insisting, I would say.

      I visited the BOB Branch on 1st Feb. Insisted on Eterna. The CC guy gave up in couple of minutes after initially telling me its only paid.

      Gave them all document, had an inperson verification at home( office closed, else they would have gone their too) Yesterday 24th Feb finally got the card.

      Customer care is among the slowest. Not able to register my card. After 5-6 calls finally got thru today morning to know, their website has issue and I should try only on Monday 28th feb

        I don’t know how some of you guys managed to get Eterna LTF. I checked with them several times over call and email and every time they told it doesn’t have any such LTF offer (of 30L gross income).

        I still applied online with bank statement for premier card (Eterna was showing chargeable) and sent them mail to issue Eterna, if LTF. But only got premier card.

        Same thing happened to few others too. So, it seem like LTF offer is given to very rare people only. And you need to be really lucky.

          Guess I mentioned in a different page that Eterna LTF application should be made offline through bank branch. One needs to first confirm with the card executive that its LTF and then apply. But in case of online applications, I see cases where people applied for a certain variant and bank at its own discretion, or whatever internal criteria, issued a different variant.
          For anyone interested in LTF Eterna, I think time is running out for applying, as offer ends in March unless BoB does an extension.

            Between what is this fuss about being LTF eterna. Anyways it is free after spending 2.5 L annually. This amount anyways you will end up spending even for LTF card given higher reward rate.

            @Nikhil, LTF does matter especially when trying to balance spends between various cards. It’s similar to how MRCC is free after spend of just 1.5Lpa, and is well rewarding even at 1.5L spend, yet who wouldn’t like to get it LTF. I for one didn’t accept my chargeable SBI card (when they upgraded me from LTF Platinum to Prime for 3.5K pa fee) and now only keep LTF cards except Amex PT. So far even PT has been free as they have reversed the fee everytime even without surrendering any points.
            All this helps manage spends quite flexibly.

    Just wanted to update that I got approved for the Eterna with a 3Lac limit by applying through the online portal with my ITR submission. My guess is they may issue a Visa Infinite card. I dont have any BoB relationship.

    Only issue is UIDAI portal is not working for the Aadhar details to be provided for offline ekyc to complete my e kyc process.

    It is not easy to apply for this card via their portal but not impossible either.

    They say Eterna is LTF for their radiant customer. Which means those who have 30 lakh balance maintain.
    In year 2020 there was an offer from the bank, if a customer opens Saving Max account MAB 1LK they will get LFT Eterna.
    Offer ended Dec 2020. But I got this to know in Feb 2021.

            Yes, entire card was mentioned.
            Your premier card should have atleast 2lk limit.

      Greetings for the day.
      We would like to inform you that ETERNA card is not lifetime free card it is chargeable with Joining and Annual fee, Hence we regret to inform you that we are unable to upgrade your PREMIER card into ETERNA with LTF(life time free). We can upgrade only into ETERNA without LTF.
      Please confirm to us for Eterna Upgrade without LTF.”

      Looks like they are now not upgrading it to LTF.

        This is so strange. Just a month ago they offered it to me free of annual charges. Although they did not mention it anywhere either during sign up or post application. They have not debited my first statement with any joining or annual fees.

    I hold BOB Premier CC. Has anyone holding any BoB CC tried to upgrade to LTF Eterna CC? Is there even an option for upgrading.
    The BoB CC guy at a branch told me that I first need to surrender my existing card, wait for 3 months & then apply for Eterna!!

      Neither you have to surrender your current card nor you have to wait for 3 month.

      Yes, but after requesting for Upgradation. Bank takes ample time.

      The day i requested for Upgradation. I got call from the bank next day. After that for a month they didn’t call or email. And I also didn’t bother to follow.

        How did you get through with the upgrade request.
        I could not find anything specific for an upgrade request in bobfinancial portal and had to contact them by raising the request as a complaint and have never heard back.

        My experience is totally different. I was issued BOB Premier Card instead of Eterna because of the RBI ban on Mastercard. I held the Premier CC for six month and then I sent a mail to customer card for upgrade. No reply for one week so I sent a reminder. In next two days I received an Upgrade request form which I filled, signed and sent the scanned copy to the customer care. After seven days I received a confirmation the my request is in process and card arrived in another four days.

    Just to update everyone that I got my Eterna card today on Visa infinite today via the online signup process. Got all the proposed benefits of the fitpass et al. Very happy with the whole online on boarding, E KYC, sign up and delivery process. There was a bit of delay in processing but I was expecting that. That apart I think all cards should be like this.

    I paid my bill through CRED on 10th of March 2022 and so far I have not received the payment receipt intimation! This was a big amount. I just got my Eterna credit card very recently, is this a common occurrence. Please help…thank you.

    Hi Nehal,

    I did try a repayment of INR 10 on my BoB eterna card and while it did not reflect instantly. It did reflect after a few days. You can contact cred support and the bank to help you better with this. In my opinion you should wait at least 2 or 3 days for it to reflect.

    I just got this card, activated ThriWe membership successfully. Validity is one year, do they extend it automatically?

    Can anyone confirm if add-on cards also get their own ThriWe membership along with all the benefits including complimentary golf coaching? Some confirmed independent lounge access to add-on cards.

        Basically visit weliveexp.thriwe.com/ and follow on screen instructions. Please make sure to save the membership voucher provided at the end as it’ll not be communicated again elsewhere.

        Also activate 6 months Fitpass membership(Unlimited Gym and Yoga center access). You can activate Fitpass within 2 months of card issuance.

    Post that I get an exception handing error on many browsers I tried.

      I dont think so. I applied BoB Premier card for my wife which is LTF. In the list, it was also showing Eterna credit card but chargeable with an Annual fee of Rs.2500/- Her gross income is around 22L.

      You’ll get that for add-on card as well (additional).

    i was aware of paytm movies offer specific for eterna cc. But in BMS there is generic visa infinite offer and new eterna cards are visa infinite cards. So i thought we can use eterna visa infinite also in BMS, but it is not accepting 🙁

          Actually i did complain to BoB about eterna being infinite card and not accepting in bookmyshow infinite offer. They took my complaint seriously and followed up with VISA and incorporated eterna now in bookmyshow. Yep, now Eterna also supported in bookmyshow infinte offer, but as you all said, in general infinite offer is useless as it always having quota related issue.

      Some category of cards is not accepted.
      Noticed that BoB is one. Faced with my card.
      Especially postpe throws error card is invalid.

      There is not surprise if you face issue.
      Try other bank card, it will work, no option.
      In parallel raise issue with Bob team.

    Just 5 days back, I applied for Eterna online. Application was accepted with my gross salary of 13lpa. Hence, the limit of 12Lpa is confirmed. They asked to submit just bank statement.

    Limit (2.08L) was fixed based on my existing AMEX CC limit (2.3L), but neither statement nor CC photi was asked. Waiting for approval but I have one doubt.

    Is 15RP applicable on rental websites?? If so on which platforms it worked?? Pls someone who used it or checked with BoB can reply.

    This is some mistakes in calculation of this article-

    If monthly capping is 5000 RPs
    Then 5000 x 12 months = 60,000

    It should be (60K + 20K)

    “ Reward Points: 95,000 points (75K+20K) equivalent to Rs.23,750 cashback”

      Sent ITR of 30L+ to them and followed up every week almost.
      Upgrade still took more than a month. If no follow up is done, it may take even more.

      Sweet spot is it’s LTF for me. They take some higher authorities approval for LTF ETERNA cases as per email support (main reason for delay).

    Received this reply after mailing them for Eterna upgrade from premiere. My premiere is less than 12months old. They’re not refusing upgrade though, only it would be paid.

    @satish how to approach higher authority for LTF Eterna. At this point I don’t think a paid Eterna is worth is annual n joining fee of INR2500.

      If they accept upgrade before 12 months, it’s good for many. Mine was already 3 years old, so no issues here.

      For LTF Eterna–
      1. Either 30 Lacs income proof is required or
      2. Should be a BOB Radiance customer (30 lacs NRV which can vary as per willingness of branch executives)

      If you don’t fulfill any of above, then it’s very difficult to get LTF Eterna.

        I requested them for upgrade to Eterna and for me also they said it will not be upgraded to LTF. I responded to them that my annual CTC is over 45 lacs and their response was that for new customer only limit of 30 lacs and above is honored for free LTF but for upgrades it will not be issued LTF.

        My last response to them 15 days back was to close my premier card if it cant be upgraded to free LTF Eterna. They have not yet responded to it despite my two follow ups.

      Received 5X points for No broker transaction, expecting the same for Redgiraffe as well.
      Wallets am not sure but got 5X reward points for the bill payments in Amazon, you can try adding some 500 and check the points after the transaction got settled.

    @sid Isn’t it time you update this article. This card has devalued a lot and it no longer worthy. It’s a 3/5 card not a 4.7/5 card anymore.

    It’s decent if categorised as an entry level card. It’s no way a premium card any more.

    Upgraded from LTF Bob premier (11month old) to PAID Eterna visa infinite last week. Limit was same 2L. Accepted the paid version as will easily cross waive off spend limit. Got add on for spouse too. No CIBIL enquiry done for upgrading. Basically got this one for unlimited lounge access and better reward, though reward devaluation recently done.

    I found one discrepancy in my first bill of Eterna. Done one transaction of INR 5498 after reaching the capping of 50000/- for 5x reward points. So got only 165 RP. But some items returned from that transaction, INR 3999 reversed on that same transaction, and they deducted 600RP, that is 5x calculated. So actually they gave me 165 RP for INR 5498 & Deducted 600 RP for INR 3999. Ridiculous. Just mailed them, let’s see what happens. If anybody done similar return transactions on Eterna, please check your bills.

      This happened with me last month. Mailed Eterna support and received accelerated RPs that was deducted mistakenly back in 5-6 days without any further escalation.

    I applied for BOB ETERNA credit card on 11 Nov 2022 online. I uploaded the required documents ( PAN, Bank Statement). After 20 days I got one SMS saying that your Eterna Credit card is approved. No Phone call, No Physical Verification to Home or office, No VKYC. I got the Physical BOB Eterna Credit card on 23rd days from the Application date by Blue Dart. Immediately I wrote a mail them to confirm about the LTF status of the Card ( attaching Pay slip and ITR). Next day I got the email from them saying it is LTF ( on 3rd Dec 2022) NO charges will be there. Very simple process, no verification or VKYC, this is the easiest ways I have ever got any Credit card that is also LTF. Beauty is that the primary and Add-on card have different numbers, they can work as independently ( Compaire to I have HDFC Regalia where the both Primary and Add-on card have the same numbers) Very good exprience with BOB Eterna team.

    With 5X reward points (especially for international spends with 2% markup fee) this card seems pretty good. However SBI cashback card with a straight 5% cashback for online spends and Airtel Axis bank credit card with a 10% cashback for specific spends (Zomato, Swiggy, Bigbasket) etc seem better bets for domestic usage.
