Axis Bank Insta Easy Credit Card Review

By | September 24, 2016

Axis Insta Easy Credit Card is one of the credit card that i used for a very long time when it was issued in golden colour when i availed it, now they changed it to purple colour. It was issued against my fixed deposit and my credit limit was 80% of the FD amount. It took axis bank 2 months to send me this card, well, i was one of the only 5 credit card holders in that branch at that time and as sales guys keep changing often, they were clueless in processing the credit card application.

Axis Bank Insta Easy Credit Card

Axis Bank Insta Easy Secured Credit Card

Axis Bank Insta Easy Credit Card Edge Rewards:

  • Earn 6 points on domestic spends for every Rs. 200 spent
  • Earn 12 points on international spends for every Rs. 200 spent

1 Edge Loyalty Reward Point Value = Rs. 0.20

This value keeps changing a bit on some redemption’s though. Well, This typically gives you 0.60% reward rate on all domestic spends and 1.2% reward rate on international spends. The reward rate is quite low for a “credit” card. Though, i accumulated a lot of points  in the past and redeemed all of them for Flipkart vouchers.

My Experience With Axis Bank Credit Card:

Once you start using the card, you can expect quite a lot of calls for EMI conversion. I remember that i used to get call at-least once in every 2 months to convert my purchase into EMI. For your info HDFC credit card Loans and EMI are far better than Axis with less interest rates and frequent processing fee waiver offers.

Their customer support is quite fast and better than HDFC in some cases. Once i wrote an email to Axis and got a response within 2 hrs, which is awesome.

Axis Insta Easy Credit Card Features:

  • Card Expert Rating: 2.5/5 [yasr_overall_rating]
  • Reward Rate: 0.60% to 1.2% as Edge loyalty Reward points
  • Fuel Surcharge Waiver: 2.5% fuel surcharge waiver can be availed on fuel transactions, for a minimum transaction amount of Rs. 400 and a maximum of Rs. 4000. Maximum benefits upto Rs. 400 per month
  • Foreign Exchange Markup fee: 3.5% + Service Tax

It is one of the basic variant for someone who needs a credit card for international transactions for which i opted for one. These days even debit cards can be used for making overseas payments. I’ve closed this card recently as it has very low credit limit with close to nil benefits. Also, i see that Axis bank Platinum Credit Card is same as this one, without deposit probably.

Axis bank is far backward in credit card offering compared to its competitors like HDFC. However, this piece of plastic helped me to boost my CIBIL score for 4 years. Secured credit cards (Issued against FD) are good for that reason.

What do you think about Axis Bank cards? Let me know in comments below.

Dear sidharth, you have mentioned that in this card we can Earn 6 points on domestic spends for every Rs. 200 spent. But I think it is not the fact. I have been using this card since 4 years, They provide 1 reward point for every Rs 100 spends, nothing else. No cash reward against the points. We can only get coupons from their ‘edgerewards’ website.
    Thanks

      Kapil,
      1. You should likely get 3 points atleast for Rs.100. else call cust care.
      2. No cash rewards, but you can get Flipkart voucher with which you can buy a lot of day today needs.

Great that you’re being treated special with Axis. I do have good relationship with Axisbank but the reward rate is comparatively lesser than HDFC, though, i agree, Axis support is very good compared to HDFC.

This is an interesting info i’ve come across on super high credit limits. American Express do have cards with such limits, yes, for celebrities with sky high income and no FD.

Hi, Siddharth. This is a really nice article. I have an Axis Bank Savings Account (Recently Opened, No AMB).
Is it good to get the Insta Easy Credit Card of Axis Bank against FD of 20k? Or should I choose CC against FD in HDFC or ICICI?
I am student. Also a online shopping addict.
    Please let me know. Thanks.

20k is less. Any bank would do. Just pick the card and choose the bank accordingly 🙂

Also, Can we apply for a new card to any bank against the Insta card ? If yes then what should be the minimum limit of the Insta card while applying & What should be the CIBIL score ?
