Amex Reward Multiplier Offer: 22 MR on 100 INR Spend

Amex Reward Multiplier Offer

As you’ve have known now, here’s a new & nice Reward Multiplier offer for New Year from American Express India. This is one of the best reward multiplier offer around. Here are all the details,

Offer Details

  • Offer: 22 MR on every 100 INR spend with Reward Multiplier
  • Valid on: all personal cards
  • Validity: 3 January 2022 – 10 January 2022
  • Exclusion: e-vouchers
  • Fulfilment: 120 business days from the date of transaction

Ever since Amex Reward multiplier got introduced, I was pretty sure the 5x/10x is not going to help them. So the 22 MR on 100 INR (or) 22X on centurion (66 MR on 100 INR) is indeed a very good move.

The offer is pretty “great” for entry level Amex cards and “mind-blowing” for centurion card holders. But unfortunately though it’s not a great deal for Amex Plat charge as most of those would anyway be holding HDFC Infinia or Diners Black.

Bottomline

It’s a very good offer indeed, especially if you don’t have HDFC super premium credit cards. I wish Amex comes up with something like 15X on plat metal cards to be able to compete with the competition.

But generally speaking, I wouldn’t be interested in accumulating MR points “at this point in time”, primarily because Marriott is moving to dynamic pricing and that means the future of Amex MR points is unpredictable, other than the taj vouchers for that matter.

And other big downside being the LONG fulfilment time taken by Amex to credit the bonus points.

In this day & world, why will someone wait for 4 months to get that effective ~ 5% worth of points when folks have 5% or 10% instant discounts.

    Hi Sid,

Under Offers it says 22X per Rs 200 instead of Rs 100.

A great deal indeed for my Plat Travel. Still hoarding points in the faint hope of a 1.5x transfer bonus with Marriott

The one thing that puts me off these MR point offers from Amex is the extremely long fulfillment period. One won’t even remember to keep track, more often than not.
The current offer can give up to 8.25 percent return on my MRCC if I can redeem on the gold collection Amazon voucher/statement credit. Could be handy if there is a big purchase lined-up for the near future. Even for the regular statement credit, one could get a 5.5 percent return, better than Axis Flipkart and AmazonPay ICICI.

Very dull offer from Amex compared to last year where they had a spend-based offer going on in January 2021 with payouts as amazon vouchers.

Yes fulfillment is very slow. points earned in july credited in december (5 months). One cant remember such transactions and if few of them are not tracked, the essence of the offer is lost..

Excellent offer. Amex has also discontinued the dashboard for eligible, enrolled and redeemed offers which was especially handy for targetted offers.

Yes that’s discontinued so that you can’t keep track of what offer you were part of. This is in line with their strategy of long fulfilment period, to prevent you from keeping track of offers

Looks like April 2022; if they are not considering wrapping up their business from India altogether, that is.

I have 40k MR points and i’m not sure what’s the best way to redeem them. Would you please make a detailed article on how to make most out of MR points. I’m interested in Hotels, air travel mostly, but want to get most value out of these points. I saw mariott and other options but the redemption ratio seems to be very bad value. Maybe I miscalculated, can you please make a guide on this issue.
