Even-though JetPrivilege HDFC Diners card gives more JPMiles than this card, acceptance of Diners Club cards becomes a problem and so the HDFC Jet World card remains the top card in the Visa/Mastercard segment for JPMiles accrual. Hi Siddarth,
I have applied hdfc credit card(jet titanium) recently.
They offer one more complementary card(dinners club). In the brochure form anual fee is 500 for jet titanium and 1500 for dinner club card. But they life time free.
Shall I trust them regarding LTF. I’m new person to use credit card. Will those two cards useful for me?. They said “try two cards, if u don’t want simply deactivate when u want”. Bt I have some article that says, hdfc credit card staff does not respond properly to deactivate the card.

    Please suggest me
    Thanks in advance.

      Ashok,
If they mention it as LTF, nothing to worry.
To deal better with HDFC support, contact them via twitter or email. Its waste of time to call them as Phone support exec. are clueless most of the time.

    Hi Siddharth,

I cannot find your review of the HDFC JP Miles Diners Card.

I wanted to find out a general question for all these HDFC JP Miles cards. When you make ticket purchases on the JetAirways website using your JP miles card, you get 3x the miles you are eligible for receiving on your other regular spends on your card.

    That is clear…

    — HDFC JP Miles Diners: 8 miles per 150 spent (24 miles on 150 when spent on jet website @ 3x rate)
    — HDFC JP Miles World: 6 miles per 150 spent (18 miles on 150 when spent on jet website @ 3x rate)

At the same time, I want to know if you earn the frequent flier miles that would be awarded by virtue of purchasing the ticket itself?

i.e When you buy a ticket on the Jet website with your JP miles card, do you receive JP miles from HDFC/Diners for card use (3x of eligibility on jet website) + JP Miles from JET Airways which come with the ticket itself for a frequent flier…OR are these de-duplicated and you get the higher of the two which possibly would be the JP Miles at 3x of card eligibility?

    Thanks!

    Reply
    1. Siddharth

      Sharan,

3X JPMiles for booking tickets which is card specific + usual JP miles for flying
      Both you’ll get.

Yes, Diners Jet is better. however, it comes with higher joining fee & low acceptance which not everyone would like.

Would like to add that the HDFC JetPrivilege Debit Card (MasterCard World) is seriously underrated and a great card for domestic travel. I know this website is about credit cards, but since you extensively cover lounges, Priority Pass, AirMiles and MasterCard and Visa access programmes, it definitely is worth a mention in your articles.

If you’re redeeming reward points for JPMiles, it is a lot better than the Moneyback Credit card, for example. It also has UNLIMITED lounge access at Indian airports, which means that save for the cards that have unlimited Priority Pass, it is the only card that gives you this, making it invaluable in India. It costs only Rs. 500 a year (with first year free for Classic/Preferred/Imperia).

It also has added benefits like 180 days fire/theft protection on purchases … even Regalia doesn’t have that.

    I did some calculations,

    HDFC Moneyback Credit Card:
    – 1 JPMile every Rs. 105 for point of sale transactions
    – 1 JPMile every Rs. 52.5 for online transactions

HDFC JetPrivilige MasterCard World Debit Card:
    – 1 JPMile every Rs. 75 for online and point of sale transactions
    – 1 JPMile every Rs. 37.5 on JetAirways.com

So clearly, for point-of-sale and JetAirways bookings it is much better than Moneyback, but loses on online spends.

    Data used:
    – Moneyback: Per Rs. 150: 2 RP pos, 4 RP online. 1 JPMile = 1.4 Point.
    – JetPrivilege: Per Rs. 150: 2 JPMiles pos/online, 4 JPMiles JetAirways.com

Hi, I follow your forums for card related queries. When you mention that it has unlimited lounge access, what would unlimited include ? Free entry only ? Or free entry and food and beverages included ? Thanks for your time.

But this is only for master card lounges access program of 2016, things could change next year onwards ? Maybe ?

        Reply
        1. Siddharth

Yes, unlimited food, soft drinks etc. in most lounges.
It may change, but they generally keep adding lounges & extend this offer.

          1. Raaghav Bhatia

Thanks cor your reply Siddharth. And I believe this unlimited access is unavailable with Regalia first MasterCard. They just have priority pass that too with only free 99$ membership. In case one wants to consume F&B, that will be paid for accordingly ?

          2. Siddharth

$27 will be charged for each visit after using 4 free visits (per yr) on Priority Pass Card.

Thanks Siddharth your write ups a great help.

i don’t really care for money back options, prefer the accumulation of points for air tickets.

I usually pay off the credit card company immediately as i always have the money in the bank, hence i liked my ADD on Charge Card of am ex, which only i would use, it started with a limit of 75k and it went up to 6.5 L.
As it was an add on i had to get rid of it and as i live in a small town am -ex didnt give cards easily, so i ended up HDFC’s newly opened branch with a jet airways platinum with a limit of 75k, which has been the same for last 3 years.

I was’t offered upgrades as i was one of the few who got a card as the branch locally opened 3 years back. Finally after a number of requests for upgrade the bank manager realized my credit card was against an “FD” when the branch had newly opened.

They are now offering me any card against my business.

Need your help, i really like the option of JP World, as most of my points are accumulated through shopping online or paying green fees at Golf courses.

I requested them for another card JP world without cancelling my platinum for long enough so as i can transfer all my points. Is that possible?

Please advice on a card. They offered me a regalia and even an infinia but I realised I prefer the benefit of airline points. Unless the others can do the same.

    Thanks.

      Kartik,
Transfer your points to JPmiles and close the card.
Then get Diners Jet card. It gives great JPmiles earn rate.

Diners have some acceptance issues though. In that case you may prefer Jet world.
On top of it, It has unlimited free Golf courses globally.

Thank you for a prompt reply, thanks to guys like you such forums do well.
Diners my dad has , and yes it has major acceptability issues and so does am ex.

also most of the companies have stopped giving points for fuel etc.

Someone yesterday suggested the Citibank Prestige. Supposedly invitation only.

And by transferring points to JP miles would mean??? I have a jetprivelage account, where i see my miles. Do i need to open another account or how does it work?

        Thanks a ton.

        Reply
        1. Siddharth

Alrite, if JP is directly transferred to JPmiles a/c you don’t need to do anything.
          Btw,
Infinia is also good wherein you can redeem the points for revenue tickets and overall earn rate on Infinia (3.3%) is better than JPmiles cards.

Any idea on Jet World Credit Card eligibility?

Now with Regalia asking around 1.2 lac in-hand salary, Is Jet World stricter/lenient?

With Jet Diners now becoming the top Jet card, they should give Jet World a little more easily.

Depends, you can ask for waiver if you’ve spent a lot.
Else ask them to change the card to some other Life Time Free variant.

Within 2 days, they dispatched Jet World card (Only First year fees is free)

Planning to use this for 1 or max 2 years, then go for Jet Diners (hopefully Diners acceptability improves)

Sounds good, Congrats on the new card!

Also, what happens if i bring a guest along with me?

I’m using HDFC Jetprevilage World Credit Card with 3 lakhs credit limit. I got Priority Pass while the credit card got delivered. Using it for past 1 year.
5% off coupon doesn’t get applied or even if it applies, fares increases sometime. Rarely used 5% discount coupon.
Unlimited domestic lounge access and 5 times priority pass access too is very useful.
Priority check in in Mumbai airport is very useful.
Tried to use extra JPmiles on partner site flipkart once for 55k but didn’t get extra reward.
I’m desperately wanted to get Diners Club Black card but they say I’m not eligible/incomplete document. Then tried to change into Diners Club Premium, same response I’m getting.
