Mastercard airport lounges has the largest network in India compared to Visa. However, if you hold Visa Signature or Infinite Card its no harm in using them first. I always value Visa cards in this order for lounge access-
- Priority Pass > Mastercard > Visa
Visa being the first preference to swipe whenever possible as it has least # of lounges and Mastercard gives access to most Domestic lounges whereas Priority Pass gives you access to 850+ lounges across the world. So Priority pass card is the most valuable to me.

I have been doing some research on priority pass access in Indian credit cards.
It seems that only Regalia and All Miles provide both membership + free visits per year. No other credit card seems to be doing that. [not considering top tier cards e.g. Visa Infinite etc]
Apart from HDFC, no other bank card does that. Some just provide membership but no free visits.
Any bank/card i am missing which does provide that?

I have ICICI bank Visa Coral Cards – 1 Credit and 1 Debit and both offer complimentary Lounge access.

And I have a VISA REGALIA, I’ve been struggling so much lately to figure how it can be changed to MasterCard. No one seems to have the information.
Simply call the customer care. I remeber i got master and called customer care to give me visa instead and it was done easily. Write to customer care also.

Am unsure about the Kid age and charges. It may vary from lounge to lounge. Generally only primary card enjoys all benefits, except on super premium cards like Infinia/Diners Black.
Kids above 3 years will be treated as a seperate guest accompanying the primary card holder.
Currently as per the new changes, even add on card holder on HDFC Regalia gets a complementary priority pass card and the cumulative number of Complementary visits between the Primary Holder and the add on card holder is 12 visits/year. I got mine recently through my wife’s Regalia.
SBI signature add on card also has 2 complimentary lounge access per quarter which is in addition to the 2 complimentary access of the primary card. For example if I have SBI Signature credit card & my wife has the add on card so both of us have 4 complimentary lounge access per quarter. I have verified this from SBI card helpline.

My VISA signature card document mentions some kind of Applicable charges which are US $ 27 per visit. However, when i visited lounge at Mumbai airport, I was also charged Rs 2 for breakfast.
What is this 27$ US charges then?
Rs.2 is charged for authentication to check if your card is active or not.
$27 is the fee associated with Priority Pass which is completely different.

Visa website says the complimentary airport lounge access program is only till September 30, 2016. Is this correct? Will it get extended? Who will tell for sure. In the past too, there have had been end dates but the program was extended.

I have a Business Regalia World Mastercard and I am told by the CC that it don’t have any free domestic access and I will have to use Priority Pass for that, is that true? And will it benefit me if I chance from MasterCard to VISA as it seems these days VISA cards have more domestic lounge access? I have emailed them asking the process to do so now waiting for their response.
Also do you have any idea if apart from Jet Card any other debit card from HDFC provide free lounge access? I checked their site and it says a few cards do but CC says that none apart from JP offers this facility anymore.

Visa gives lounge access only to Signature/Infinite variants as standard offer. Others maybe temporary, less reliable.
Moreover, this variant is no more sourced. I’ve been holding it for a while.

Also I visited Plaza Lounge at T1 and they also said that Visa affiliation has been called off. I checked website of HDFC and Citibank but they haven’t updated their website. My wife holds a HDFC All miles Card which came with a priority pass card which has been subsequently revoked w.e.f 31st March,2017. However , in the mean time i have applied for Amex membership rewards card which should give me 12 access but can’t seem to find this information anywhere else ( but i think that is domestic lounge ) .However i was surprised that the agent told me that the platinum travel card has been closed w.e.f 28th April,2017 otherwise wanted to apply for that !! I recently got Business Regalia though I applied for Personal Regalia (am self-employed and I undertsand that coul d be the reason). I did gt the Visa one . My questions are as follows:
1. is it better to have a Mastercard one than the Visa One ?
2. What advantages do I have on Business Regalia ?
3. What kind of offers should I look for ? Is the retail offers not applicable for this ?

On 22nd February 2017 I received a mail stating, “Priority Pass membership has been withdrawn from product. Hence your Priority Pass will be deactivated with effect from 1st March, 2017.”
Next month I am going on an international trip with my wife and daughter (adult). I want to upgrade my allmiles HDFC card – please suggest which card should I upgrade to – I need lounge access for all 3 of us – since we have return flight layover at Abu Dhabi with a long halt.

Hi Siddharth, I have a visa infinite debit card issued by Standard Chartered bank. On Visa’s website, it mentions that the infinite card is eligible to get lounge benefit at Mumbai Intl Airport Domestic terminal.. Lounge name mention is Mumbai Airport Lounge (MAL), but as far as I know there is no MAL lounge at the intl airport domestic departure side.. The address mentioned (OPP gate 44 and 45) is same as that of Travel Club lounge (loyalty lounge), but I am not sure if these are same. However, I do vaguely remember that in the past I have tried and my visa infinite card was not eligible for access at the Travel club lounge.. I am going to be at airport for 4hrs and want to use the benefits of this lounge, so can u pls let me know if my visa infinite will actually be eligible?

Mumbai Airport Lounge (MAL), Travel Club lounge and loyalty lounge in Mumbai T2 domestic departures is smae lounge having different names, it accepts visa, master and amex cards but they allow only 3 hours before flight time.

I hold SBI VISA PLATINUM CREDIT CARD ,Recently on date 20th December 2017 afternoon around 1:45 am I approached PLAZA PREMIUM LOUNGE AT NEW DELHI AIRPORT T1 DEPARTURE/DOMESTIC But surprisingly the Guy at Customer service /Host desk denied to Offer any service on my VISA PLATINUM CREDIT CARD. But, as per my knowledge the SBI Credit card department said me that the platinum card carries 2 Free Access to VISA Associted lounge and the premium plaza declined to offer me any complimentery access .please guide me what to do ?
They removed Visa access recently. Check relevant lounge article for more info. Try to change your card to “mastercard”

I do have SBI master card(debit) as well ICICI visa(debit). If I use those cards in Indian airport lounge than it will be complimentary of I need to pay for it.
Update : carnations lounge in terminal 1 at Mumbai CSIA does not accept visa cards anymore … only mastercard , maestro , dragonpass , priority pass accepted

Usually lounges charge you 32$ for you guest/companion access even if you have priority pass access.
Axis Magnus has complimentary guest access in India.
Currently Visa has more affiliated lounges than MasterCard. Even in towns like Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam we can access through Visa. I have 2 MasterCards with lounge access, which i cant use in these cities.

For accessing lounges in India, I believe my debit card will be sufficient to enter the lounge, however will the same debit card be used to access lounges outside India or do I have to register for LoungeKey. I’ve a ICICI Rubyx card that I am using for last 2 decades (it was probably called something else in the past). It’s marked as Visa Signature. Recently I got a Sapphiro which has 5x limit of Rubyx, but marked as Platinum. The HDFC Infinia is Infinite, but Imperia Debit is Platinum.
My question is: do these Visa tiers matter? And if so, how? Sapphiro is higher than Rubyx, but Platinum is lower than Signature. So seems contradictory.
