All Miles Credit Card by HDFC bank – Premium Travel Credit Card

HDFC All Miles is one of the Premium credit card which are generally offered to Preferred or Imperia HDFC customers. It is one of the major HDFC productΒ to its customers in Premium Travel Segment. HDFC all miles website is specifically designed for All Miles credit card holders in which they can book airline tickets, hotel reservation, download music and make recharges for their mobiles or DTH using the reward points earned while spending. You earn 2X reward points for all purchases done on hdfcallmiles website.

This card is offered Life Time Free to Preferred/Imperia customers, but for Classic and other customers, the bank these days is offering an Insta Loan of 40000@ 1.1 % p.m. rate of interest on this card, availing which can make the card Life Time Free which is worth considering. The loan bears very little interest and frees customer from making any out bound purchases every year to waive their annual fees of Rs. 1000.

Also this Festive season, bank offers a new benefit of smart pay feature in which on every bill added to card, you will get bonus 1000 Reward Points per bill.

Redeeming Reward points in HDFC All Miles Credit Card:

You first need to convert your reward points to Allmiles voucher which can then be utilized in dedicated hdfcallmiles website. 100 Reward points gives you with 25 Allmiles voucher credits. You can also convert the reward points to your preferred Air miles loyalty program. The best way to utilize these points are to use it for air travel tickets or for mobile recharge whenever required. You may also book hotel rooms and others using your voucher.

Pay Postpaid bills using HDFC AllMiles Reward Points:

You can also make payments for your postpaid bills using the allmiles reward points vouchers which no other HDFC card gives you. Yes, when it comes to recharge, only with Allmiles credit card, you can pay the postpaid bills using the reward points, all other cards including Infinia or regalia can be used only for prepaid recharges using the points.

This doesn’t seem to be a planned feature, but i can see that Allmiles website alone is running on a “Reward360″ loyalty platform while other cards are running on “Loylty” rewards platform which made the difference.

  • Earn double Reward Point on all spends done on hdfcbankallmiles.com and then can redeem those earned points on various air miles (100 Reward Point = 25 Air Miles)

Features of HDFC All Miles Credit Card:

  • Card Expert Rating: 7/10
  • Reward rate: ~0.5%Β  normally, upto ~1% on accelerated rewards
  • Fuel Surcharge waiver: 5% fuel surcharge waiver while 2.5% is waived off on petrol rate with a maximum cap limit of Rs 500 per statement.
  • Reward Points: Welcome gift of 1000 Reward Points, and 3 Reward Points for every Rs 150 spent and 2x Reward Points on all spends done on hdfcbankallmiles[dot]com
  • Renewal Fee Waiver: The annual fees of the card of Rs 1,000 can be waived off if you spend for Rs 15000 or more in the first 3 months of the card and then later on every year you need to spend Rs 1,00,000 or more to waive off the annual fees.
  • Complementary Airport lounge access: Yes, Β up to 4 free accesses to the Priority Pass lounges every year; 2 visits per quarter to Visa Signature lounges / MasterCard Lounges based on which variant you have.
  • Foreign Exchange Markup fee: 3.5% + Service Tax

Pro Tip: If you’re concerned about the lounge access, take Visa Variant that gives 2 access per quarter & you’ll get 4 access per year using priority pass. So in total = (2*4)+4=12 free access πŸ™‚

Since the Allmiles credit card is from premium segment, it is a better choice if compared to other cards like platinum plus and other beginner cards. It is acceptable at all major platforms, various airport lounges etc. and if you are a frequent flyer then do not give a second thought in getting one since it is one of the best card to get your Reward Points redeemed into air miles.

The limit offered on this card is also very attractive and one can easily get approx limit around 2 Lakhs on this card. If you already own this card, consider upgrading to Regalia Credit Card which is the next best super premium credit card offered by the bank. Impressed? Planning to choose HDFC All miles Credit card? Do let me know in comments below πŸ™‚

Update as on April 2016: Priority Pass is not issued easily these days as per our reader “Mohamed Ubaidullah”. So confirm the same with bank if its an important factor for you.

Update as on Nov 2016: 1 Reward point = 0.25ps. Its no more a premium card even though HDFC sells it so.

    Hi Siddharth,

I read your review for all miles and money back credit card, informative and interesting, My question is i presently have money back credit card and i got an offer from hdfc to upgrade it to all miles credit card and now i am in an oscillation whether to upgrade to all miles credit card is a worth move. I frequently travel abroad and i noticed lounge access is free in all miles card and which makes me considering the all miles card. Can i directly use the all miles card at any airport or do i need to get prior ticket for lounge from hdfc bank before using? suggest me whether to upgrade to all miles card is worthy in my case?

With HDFC AllMiles, you save 1.5% as points on all spends. With moneyback, you save 1.5% only on online spends. Moreover, allmiles is a Visa signature variant. That all being said, Allmiles is always a good option to upgrade.

hi, i have the HDFC ALLMILES card with a reward point balance of approx 12k. I am not really into online shopping, nor do i prefer spending time looking for redemption options of the points. Is the money back option available on this card? I dont mind getting the card converted into another one if i can avail that option, except that i would like that one to be free too.

    1. Siddharth Post author

Ekta, you cant take cash credit on allmiles card. But the best way to use the points in allmiles is to pay for postpaid bills. 12k points worth roughly Rs.9000 in Allmiles card. So you can consider prepaying your bills or maybe recharge your Prepaid mobiles, book flights. Quick advice: Don’t use to book hotels as usually you can get better rates from Goibibo.
Only “Moneyback” card gives cash credit on statement, but in that case, you need to downgrade which is not a good idea as you’ll devalue your points by 50%

    Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for the informative post. I would like to know, how can I generate the voucher code for “HDFC Bank ALLMILES Credit Card” to redeem bill payments at hdfcbankallmiles.com. I have gone through the InstaEVoucher option in netbanking. But unfortunately I didn’t find any matching one. I called customer support several times regarding this. But till now I didn’t get a solution.
It would be a great pleasure for me, if you could help me regarding.

    Thanks.

Insta Evouhcer link doesnt work at times. HDFC points redemption sites have maintenance/downtime often. Try after sometime or try to generate voucher from the allmiles site. Its possible on regalia portal, but not sure of Allmiles portal. If everything fails, catch HDFC support guys on twitter, they’ll help pretty quick to save their brand πŸ™‚

Generating a voucher is possible only though HDFC netbanking login

      1) Select CARDS tab in the top of the list
      2) In left under credit cards select enquire and then select redeem reward points
      3) You have to select your card and continue
      4) You will be displayed with a reward redemption type selection
      5) For recharging mobiles or booking movie tickets i select the option

      Redemption(Points only)

then you will find item category and drop down button showing e voucher at the last selection item.

Note: There might be charges for generating e vouchers, so better to convert the vouchers for maximum number of points. Voucher is valid for one month and also the unused points are reversed back to your account . I use the points for recharging which is so useful most of the times giving 0.75 rupees for 1 reward point.

I hope this will help you to redeem your points

Does this procedure work for booking flight tickets via all miles website ??

I tried to book a flight ticket on allmiles website and got stuck as at the end they asked ” Generate Voucher” too and redirected to HDFC netbanking.
Just want to confirm with you that, whether above procedure can be followed or not, to generate that voucher and can be used back on all miles website to complete the flight booking ? Please let me know urgently as flight rates keep fluctuating…:)

    Hi Siddhart,
Which one would you recommend between all miles and jet privilege platinum? we are frequent travellers and jet privilege member. Also, is there any difference between visa and mastercard?
Also, very very informative articles. extremely useful! thank you very very much.

      Amruta,
I would suggest All miles generally. But if you’re looking to make use of JPMiles, i would suggest JET World (or) Jet Diners Card. They’re much better than Jet Platinum.
You need to compare Visa Signature Vs Mastercard World. Master cards are known for its free lounge access. If you don’t need that, go for Visa Signature Cards (Allmiles).

I got my first credit card recently and it is HDFC All Miles Credit Card. My credit card limit sanctioned was Rs. 1.5 lakkhs and so far I have got 4 statements out of that I have already paid three bills in full and I will pay the fourth bill in full before billing date. I also have two EMI’s running from same card of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 8,000. My question to you would be that how can I get my credit card limit increased to 3 lakhs ( less is also fine ) or upgrade it to Regalia. Money is not a problem and I can also file Income Tax Returns of 5-10 Lakhs this year if you say so.
I would also like to inform you that I have read each and every articles of yours including ” Here’s How to Increase Your Credit Card Limit ” 3-4 times and if I tell you that the articles were great it would be an understatement. Please write more and more articles about credit card if possible.

Clear 6 Bills and mail HDFC email support asking for eligibility for Regalia. I’m very much sure that you’ll get the eligibility.
If you’re said you’re eligible, send Limit enhancement + upgrade along with IT docs at once and you can expect around 2L-2.5L limit.
If you’re said not eligible, you need to wait until you get auto limit enhancement and then do the above.

      Reg. SBI AIR India card,
Yes, its one of the top card on list if you’re a frequent flyer & if you can spend that much to avail bonus rewards.

Can you tell me the process for getting the priority pass membership through HDFC?
How can I ask them to send it to me?
Also, the 99$ annual fee will be paid by HDFC, every year, correct? Or is it 1 time and then they will start charging my card for it? The 4 visits are complimentary every year or only 1st year?

    Reply
    1. Siddharth Post author

Yes, just ask them to issue Priority Pass Card.
Complimentary visits count on the card keeps changing. You’ll receive that info while issuing. Usually 4 visits a year, every year as long as you have the credit card renewed.

Ok, I just spoke to the Hdfc CC and they asked me to fill in some form and post it to them and blah blah.
Also, he said the priority pass membership for 99$ is complementary for only the first year. From next year onwards, they will charge 99$ on my card. Is this true? I know 95% of the times the call centre guys don’t know anything so just wanna confirm with you.

            Did that.
            Never received the card.
I was out of india and now I called them again, they say the Priority Pass membership is withdrawn from All Miles card since April 15 2016, and it is available only on Regalia and Jet Airways co-brand cards.

            Sid,
Maybe you need to update the post to reflect the same.

My brother just asked for upgrade from his existing card to All Miles.
Before Upgrade, they promised the Priority Pass.
Post upgrade, they said the offer just expired today 18 June 2016 at 2 pm!

Looks like the CC is advised not to give away Priority Pass or they are unaware what is happening.

I am being upgraded from HDFC World card to Allmiles card. Is it sensible to convert existing reward points to Jet/Air India Airmiles now or wait until the upgrade and then convert the reward points on the Allmiles card. They are downgrading the points on conversion from World to Allmiles (factor of .42 or something like that).

    Reply
      1. Raghu

Thanks Siddharth. The initial conversion ratio from World card points to Jetmiles is .434. The point downgrade from World to Allmiles is .428 , and 1 Allmile point is worth .7 Jetmiles . Better to redeem and then upgrade . Now redeemed πŸ™‚

Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful article. You have become Jagoinvestor’s Manish for credit cards.

I would want to know if it is possible to hold two credit cards of the bank at the same. I mean like having HDFC moneyback card and Regalia Card or HDFC All Miles card and Jet Airways co Branded card to reap maximum benefits.

    Thanks,

Typically, HDFC doesn’t allow you to hold 2 cards at once.
But if you have any luck, you can possibly get 1 diners card & 1 Visa/Master card. Even that gets bit tough at times.

Though, very often diners card is given to new applicants as additional free card.
Fact is, HDFC doesn’t have any rule. It changes for every single customer for a reason, that only God knows πŸ˜€

    Hi

Was comparing this to Citibank Premiermiles card. The range of flight and travel options and the points per spend seems lower (though I notice their miles are worth more when booking tickets).

Can you please guide me on which card to choose among the two? Make extensive credit card spends and would be happy redeeming it for travel spends.

      Ajit,
Citibank Premiermiles is better than Allmiles on regular (1.8% value back)/travel(4.5% Value Back) spends whereas Allmiles gives ~1.5% across all spends.

It is not a good credit card. Their website says that you can redeem your points on 500 international and domestic airlines, but if you try to book any international flight from hdfcbankallmiles website, they only show tickets for 2 airlines; Jet Airways and Spicejet. I have tried to book tickets to Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore; but only tickets they show are of Jet airways and Spicejet. Even I have tried to book from Mumbai and Chennai to other International destinations, but you only get to see Jet airways. No other major international airlines can be booked from their website. Only for domestic flights they show all airlines. So to redeem your points for international travel, this card is useless. I wrote to them regarding this, but didn’t get any reply yet.

    Hi Siddharth,

I have a hdfc VISA signature allmiles card. I am a frequent traveler and also a jet privilege member. I have close to 25k points in my all miles card. I was reading a previous members comments and it is true that HDFC allmiles website shows only destinations run by jet & spicejet but i was just checking the redemption points required to fly to say dubai, bangkok, singapore, etc are significantly lower if u book through allmiles webiste than jet privilege points. For eg Mumbai to singapore return if i want to redeem on allmiles website it is around 33k points while on jet airways website it requires almost 60k points for the same ticket. I was actually thinking to convert this 25k points into jp miles but now i m confused since it seems quite lucrative to book through allmiles website. Can u also cross check or have come across such sitaution.

      Darshit,
      1 Allmiles point = 0.75ps
But 1 JPMiles is not equal to the same and so it can’t be compared.

      1. Golden rule to use Airmiles (JPmiles in your case) is to redeem the points for a long trip on first class. That will maximize the value of the point to 1 Rupee or more per JPMile. Note: this is award ticket and is limited.
      2. Allmiles points are best used for Flight ticket booking if you find the fare same as other sites. Note: this is Revenue ticket like any other ticket you would purchase online.
Hope the info helps you to decide.

Just wanted to confirm from you , is this below calculation correct ?

    priority pass : 4
    visa signature access : 2 per quarter * 4 = 8
    total = 12 , is it right ?

But customer care is saying visa signature lounge access for all miles has been discontinued , is it true ?

I have got a priority pass card issued on my allmiles card, but I’m scared to use it at international lounges as I don’t want to be shocked by an unexpected $27 charge in my allmiles card statement. I have heard conflicting reports that only priority pass membership is issued these days with the allmiles card and all lounge visits are chargeable. Others are saying 4 international lounge accesses are free in a year.

Is it possible that I get charged without my knowledge by swiping just my priority pass card at a lounge? Or does the allmiles card also have to be compulsorily swiped in order for me to be charged $27 for the lounge visit?

So Priority Pass is complusory for ALL MILES Master Card but not for ALL MILES VISA SIGNATURE ,
and the same was experience yesterday at Chennai Airport, when my Brother used his ALL MILES VISA SIGNATURE without priority pass and got free access to lounge but my MOM was not given free access on her ALL MILES Master card.
So now will have to apply for complimentary Priority Pass.

    And Fortunately they allowed 1 + 1 on my Dad’s Priority Pass…

Did not knew they allow 1 + 1 on Priority Pass.

“This is with reference to your e-mail regarding your HDFC Bank International credit card account.

On receipt of your query, we have taken a detailed review on the same and wish to share our findings with you.
We wish to clarify as per the Bank internal guidlines and process, master lounge facility was withdrawn from 01 May 2016.
Hence we request you to fill and forward us the below URL form for us to issue the priority pass card to access the lounges.

    hdfcbank.com/assets/pdf/Priority-Pass-ALLMILES-BRE.pdf

The form may be sent to the below address:

    HDFC Bank Cards Division
    PO BOX # 8654
    Thiruvanmiyur PO
    Chennai 600 041

Alternatively the same may be dropped in any of the drop boxes placed at our ATMs for your convenience. ”

So does it means HDFC Credit card of Master Card variant wont have complimentary access to Airport Lounges without Priority Pass?
Is that case VISA variant is better now since it can be used with Priority pass too though at few airport ?

    Strange thing…

Will wait for PP and will try some other airport before switching to VISA.

    This is normal…
When they bring some new Premium Card over and above the other existing premium card then this existing premium card becomes very common and thus results into cancellations of all benefits . And when they reduce the eligibility criteria then we should be prepared for this revocation πŸ™‚

First of all I want to track you for all the information you are putting up in the blog. It’s through your blog, I came to know about the AllMiles card & its features. I have upgraded to Allmiles in May. Also got the Priority pass after lot of emails with Credit card senior grievance cell. CC was telling PP issuance have been stopped for Allmiles. I has used the PP last week also in Abudhabi & it was free.

Now since the points are devalued should I ask for an upgrade? On an average I make 1round trip international travel every month. Is it possible to get a Diners club premium in addition to Allmiles? I have asked the RM & she told me that she will check & let me know.

My debit card is Titanium Royal. Is master card lounge access revoked for that card also? Any ideas?. Bank gave me to upgrade option to Jetairways Master card world debit card. What’s your opinion?

if I select “Discounted Fare” during domestic return flight selection on AllMiles website, I can see some flight options but no way to select a flight and proceed. It gives “system error”. I wrote to allmiles customer care with step-by-step screen shots and they had no answer except “apologies for inconvenience”. If I untick “discounted fare” while entering the selection, I can see several flights but each flight charges displayed in Allmiles website are more than that on the individual airlines’ website.
E.g. Mum-COK return (between 24/12/2016-31/12/2016) on Allmiles website for Jet Airways for 4 pax = Rs. 75k.
On Jet Airways for same selection, it is Rs. 52k.
For discounted fare (just information provided on Allmiles website with no way to actually book tickets), it is Rs. 68k.
