Bank of Baroda Premier Credit Card Review

Bank of Baroda Premier Credit Card

For those who needs airport lounge access benefit, Bank of Baroda has a credit card for that and that is the BOB Premier credit card. It works on Visa Signature platform and here’s a quick review on the same.

Joining Fees

Joining FeeINR 1000+GST
Joining Fee WaiverSpend INR 10,000 in 60 days
Renewal FeeINR 1000+GST
Renewal Fee WaiverSpend INR 1,20,000 in 1 yr

Spend based joining/renewal fee waivers are the amazing USP of BOB cards which you shouldn’t miss.

Rewards

  • Travel, Dining and International spends: 2.5% (Capped at 2000 RP’s a month)
  • Other Spends: 0.5%

Good for travel and dining spends. Rewards on other categories are not so great.

Airport Lounge Access

  • Domestic: 2/qtr through Visa Signature

Visa Signature platform is one of the major advantage of the BOB premier credit card that gives you lounge access and other Visa Signature privileges. Getting it at 1K INR fee with waiver is very good.

Satish Kumar recently got the premier card and here’s what he had to say:

I have BOB Premier card since last 10 months or so. Was unable to make use of this card much as benefits are less compared to many other cards in my wallet.

So decided to switch it to BOB Select which is a very good rewarding credit card. Sent an email to BOB customer care for the downgrade. It was handled smoothly and I can already see the Select card in net-banking within a week.

How to Apply?

You may apply Bank of Baroda Premier Credit card offline through branch (or) through online portal using the referral link below:

Bottomline

  • Cardexpert Rating: 3.5/5 [yasr_overall_rating]

Overall not a great credit card in my opinion. But if you’re looking for domestic lounge access with Visa Signature privileges, its worth holding.

Otherwise, if you’re asked to take a BOB card as a cross-sell to take a loan or other products, you could rather go for the Bank of Baroda Select credit card.

If you can spend more, like 5L annually online or offline, its better to go for the newly launched Eterna Credit card.

Euphoria on mastercard platform and winnings on rupay platform are the two really nice product they offer,

Now since Bob has called off the bonus points feature on select card, and amex mrcc is not accessible for everyone because of their acceptance issue and select cities criteria, idbi winning can be a good option, 500 bonus points on 5 transaction of 1000/- each, (1000 bonus points on 10 transaction also with add on card), it’s on rupay platform, no acceptance issue atleast in India, spend based waiver available, both domestic and international lounge access feature, easily available pan India through IDBI branches. You definitely need to have account with them as they don’t issue card to non customers.

Also, they have recently launched two ltf cards in partnership with LIC only for LIC employees, agents and policyholders on rupay platform.

Hello! I’m using BOB Premiere credit card, which I got very recently. I used it once for airport lounge access in the month of Feb. Now today my access was denied and the reason is, complimentary uses exceeded.
Would you please let me know if from 2/qtr they have reduced it to 1/qtr?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, as per their website it’s 1 per qtr. So they must have reduced.

I applied for Eterna via branch but got the premier card.Highly disappointed with the premier card. I again applied for eterna via online and waiting for video KYC. Does BOB allow two credit cards?

Has anyone used insurepays app for bob credit cards. We are supposed to get cash back and discount on bill

      Not anymore!
That was kind of an introductory offer. Let alone cashback and discount on the bill, they’ve started charging 1.5%+gst (on amazon pay, which actually incurred no convenience fees earlier) with no cashback and discount.
They keep rebuilding their app and introducing some varying discounts here and there. Well, if they are not going to run some promotional offer, like the one they did around 15th Aug, then we may forget their earlier cash backs and discounts on credit card bills.

What are the various options available for Bob rewards redemption? Can I redeem it as cashback into statement or an amazon vochure? Is there any reward redemption fee

I have Bob Premier CC and tried to use for the first time in Pearl lounge in Kannur airport. Though they said they accept BOB, my LTF premier gave message that its not lounge eligible. I then had to use my hdfc regalia to get in.
So please don’t get Premier if you need lounge access. Try Eterna

Did anyone try to convert this to rupay variant? Atleast we can try to use it on UPI. I tried applying for tata neu infinity plus and got rejected so this might help.
