Plaza Premium Lounge at Hyderabad Airport (Domestic) Review

By | August 17, 2016

After spending some time with not so nice experience at Hyderabad airport transit hotel, i decided to check out the other lounge located in the airport’s domestic departure area. Both lounges are managed by the Plaza Premium Lounge Network which is the world’s largest independent airport lounge network.

My Experience at Plaza Premium Lounge – Hyderabad Domestic Departure:

The lounge is situated at 1 floor down from the departure hall, we took the lift to reach the lounge. Me and 2 other friends got access via Diners Card, Mastercard & Priority pass. The lounge was too much crowded and it was hard to find seats for 3 of us. The Lounge was fully packed as its dinner time, around 9PM. They also have a bar attached to it.

I started with Corn Soup which was nice and then moved to the main course that had Biryani, rice, etc. I had one of the tastiest Hyderabadi Briyani in this lounge. Overall, food is really tasty and the staff named Mr.Rahul was super kind to get things done for me, like getting Wifi access keys etc.

Facilities at Plaza Premium Lounge Transit Hotel :

  • CardExpert Lounge Rating: 4/5
  • Wifi: Yes, decent speed.
  • Food: Yes. Tasty Buffet.
  • Ambiance: Good.
  • Recharge Station: Yes.
  • Complimentary Access on: Priority Pass, Diners Club, Mastercard, Visa Cards

Overall, its a nice lounge with good food and proper service even during the peak timings. The lounge is mostly busy and lively. Only drawback is that the lounge is in open space, so you get to hear little bit of noise from the crowd in Departure area. However, i should say, its one of the best lounges i’ve been to, especially for its food 😀

Yes, its free. I have tried soft drinks. Am unsure about alcohol. Usually its chargeable but some lounges have it for free too.

    Hi Siddharth,

I have priority pass, got via Hdfc regalia. What will I get at free of cost at any airport Lounge( be it is domestic or international) with priority pass?

Do I need to activate priority pass or is it preactivated?

Hello. Few questions. So if I hold a platinum Mastercard but no priority pass, can I access the lounge for free? Also has Hyderabad got lounge in arrivals area? Another question is that I have diners rewardz card. Does it entitle me to free visits to lounges located on international departures but in Indian airports?

      2. yes transit lounge is there. i’ve reviewed it. have a look.
      3. yes, any lounge inside India is “domestic” and diners card has access to most of them.

One Thing about this Lounge is that they dont have the Flight Status screen visible. Every time you have to walk out near the entrance to look for your flight status. Added to this, the announcements made on the PA would also not be very audible. I might have missed my flight waiting here.(Though it was the airlines fault that they started earlier boarding as the flight was empty).

But still it is a good Lounge with a nice view. You can enjoy a decent meal with super comfy chairs.

That’s a valid point. I din’t notice the screens. Not sure how could they miss this primary need.

      Completely agree on this !
They announce manually in the lounge but its not clearly audible if you are seating towards end of the lounge.

Also, the lounge is a little congested for free movement !
      Food was really good though.

I have to say that this place was a total let down. The ONLY reason frequent travelers chose to go to an airport lounge is for some exclusivity, comfort, good food and peace while we wait hours between flights. Unfortunately you will get non of the above at this lounge. Firstly it is too small for a large airport like this. Its packed tight like a cattle shed and the steady inflow of lounge users who apparently can have access by showing their boarding passes is far too many for them to handle. There was always a steady inflow of passengers who rushed in and grabbed a plate, wolfed down whatever was there and left. The spread at the buffet was pathetic. There were some bread rolls, butter, a kind of ghee rice, one channa dish and one chicken semi gravy. An apology of a salad and a weak kheer was there to go by. I fled after bearing this chaos after 15 mts and found that the seats near the gates more peaceful.
