Impressive Spend Based Offers on HDFC Credit Cards

By | November 24, 2016

I recently received my Diners Black Credit Card Physical statement and was excited to see a customized spend based offer mentioned in it. It said that i need to spend 2 Lakhs to avail 4000 Reward Points which will be above the usual reward rate. Spend Period: Oct 1st to Nov 30th 2016.

Earn 10X Reward Points

Earn Reward Points based on Spends

Custom Spend based Offer on HDFC Credit Card:

Lets see the Numbers: On spending 2 Lakhs on Diners Black,

  • Usual rewards: 6,600 Points
  • Bonus: 4,000 Points
  • Total: 10,600 Points = Rs.10,600 (on Diners Site)
  • Net Reward Rate: 5.3% Reward Rate instead of 3.3%

So reward rate of 5.3% is undoubtedly a handsome number, moreover, if i spend on 10X partners, the total rewards i get is beyond my imagination. On top of it, if i can manage to spend on Saturday & Sunday, i can gain another 2,000 Points. Damn! I’m getting addicted to Reward points much more than ever.

Here’s another spend based offer that my mom received via email on her HDFC Moneyback Credit Card.

Spend based Offer on HDFC Credit Card

Not so great offer on Moneyback card, still decent enough!

Few things to Note:

  1. Most offers are mentioned in Physical Statement. So, don’t cancel (like i did for Regalia) physical statements as it carries valuable info which digital statements delivered on email don’t.
  2. I receive no emails or promos for my Diners Black card, never used to receive any even on Regalia card either. If its same case for you, call customer care and create a request for the same.
  3. Watch your emails. My Mom received the above mentioned 1000 Reward Points offer via email.

As i can see, these days banks are using artificial intelligence to provide custom offers to each customer based on their previous spends. Wish every bank does it, so we can rake in lots of reward points πŸ˜‰

Have you ever received any such Custom spend based offers from HDFC? If so, how much? Feel free to share your Experiences in comments below πŸ™‚

    Hi
I just started working and want to get a travel credit card to start accumulating miles. Please suggest some options.

Amex travel card only gives indigo vouchers. I plan to use the miles for international travel as well. Is there a separate card you would suggest for international travel or is there a card available which can be used for both?

    – Was the recent spends based offer from HDFC that you received again mentioned in your physical statement and you did not receive on your email??

    – Did this request which you placed with the customer care work??
