This is a neat and straightforward offer that lets you earn 40,000 Avios, giving a total value of about ~40,000 INR just by paying 10,000 NR +GST, which is extremely lucrative for such a low spend requirement.
Note that this offer is applicable only on the Qatar Airways variant. However, Avios can be transferred later and used across other Avios partner airlines if you wish.

Should you apply?
I have personally been using Avios to fly British Airways Business Class every year between Dublin and London. It is exceptionally rewarding, especially due to access to the massive Business Class lounge at Heathrow.
I also redeemed Avios this year for one of the shortest commercial flights in the world, a 15-minute hop from Tallinn to Helsinki on Finnair.
I’ve also flown Cathay Pacific Business to HKG by booking the ticket through Qatar, as it’s slightly better compared to booking Cathay direct.
Additionally, you can use 40,000 Avios to fly from India to Europe in economy, with routes like Delhi to Helsinki being a known sweet spot.

Did anyone received the welcome benefit of 20k avios and the additional 20k avios? Any idea when we are due to receive it? The customer service is useless and keep saying different things.

Yes, you should get the 20K bonus.
This is currently on hold as per the IndusInd website. They are facing some technical issues is what I was told when discussed with the RM in Bangalore today

I messaged my RM who handles credit cards at Indusind yesterday evening & he confirmed that I will get 40k Avios if I apply for the card before 31st Jan & spend atleast Rs. 5k within a month of the card issuance.
But today morning when I called him to take my application, he said that he just received an email from the cards team & they had internally marked it to the product team, asking them to stop taking new card requests in this offer & some technical difficulties were quoted. He said that since it is unclear, I might get the standard 20K Avios only.
This is extremely lousy.
Upon trying to get a clarification from IndusInd Bank. Following was their response
“Dear Applicant,
Greetings from IndusInd Bank!
This is with reference to your IndusInd Bank Credit Card.
We would like to inform you that an additional 20,000 Avios points will be credited to customers who upgrade their existing Avios card to the Qatar Airways variant and make spends of INR 5,000 within 30 days from the card setup date.
If you are applying a fresh Avios credit card then you will get 20,000 bonus Avios, would be credited after 15 days of receipt of joining fees.”
Any info about the above ?
I checked with the bank and what I heard is, there wouldn’t be any issue with most cases.
However, the offer is not being given if it’s done as a new multi-card application as anyway they’re not honouring multi-card recently that easily it seems.
What I think though is, all would get the bonus, as they don’t have these complex tech to differentiate applications and the t&c on Qatar anyway did not mention any of these.

I checked with the Indusind Bank branch day before & the executive confirmed that I will get 40k Avios upon applying for a new Indusind Avios credit card in Qatar Airways variant. However, yesterday when I called him to get me on board, he said that there are certain internal communications that happened yesterday with the loyalty program & the card product team & they were guided that as of now, the bonus Avios scheme is temporarily halted due to some technical issues cited. He said that, if I enrol now, I will get the standard 20k Avios. Qatar Airways still continue to advertise the bonus 40K Avios scheme on their official web page, while Indusind credit card executives say that internally they have put a hold. Could someone please cross check & confirm.
Never Trust Indusind. They DO NOT keep their promises. I got the same card after paying 40K + taxes in Dec 2024. They neither provided the Qatar gold status and 20K avios (the benefits at that time) nor did they respond to my multiple complaints to the customer service. Their customer service is ignorant about their own cards and do not respond at all or where they respond after extremely long delays, they do not address your complaint. Now, I am preparing to go to RBI and further if needed.
They will start a whole offer with no idea. Thinking 10 people will be given 40000 avios after that they will not budge for the rest, they are totally undependable. Simple thing is don’t trust them
Are rent transactions considered for the milestone benefit on this card? Do we get points for rent transactions?
What is 5000 eligible Spend ? Its not clear. Heard it has to be spent on Qatar. More clarity needed.
You can spend that amount anywhere, within 30 days of card setup date.
really confused. Can get the card for Avios but the card itself isof not much use as i have Infinia, DCB, Travel one etc. What do you suggest?

You don’t have to be a first time user at IndusInd to apply for this right? I already have IndusInd Legend and cancelled my IndusInd EazyDiner in the past
No, need not be. Both existing IndusInd Cardholders and existing loyalty members of QR are eligible.
However, if online channels doesn’t work for existing IndusInd cardholders, it’s better to ask branch RM to do upgrade/split limit & apply.
