If there is one type of offer that i don’t like with Credit cards, that’s the “top spender” program. Its more like a lott*ry promo as you’ve no control on where you stand among the others. So if you decide to spend 3 Lakhs hoping to win and if you loose, you not only loose the offer but also loose all those points that you could have earned otherwise on other cards/offers.
Anyway, SBICard have came up with lots of prizes that it maybe worth for some who don’t have access to other card offers. Here’s the offer:

That’s 5% value if you can spend 10 Lakhs and win. Not worth spending more than that for obvious reasons. This is not possible for many, so lets move to next offer.

- Xioami Mi Mix 2 (Value: Rs.23,000 as on Flipkart)
- Winners Count: 75 (25/week for 3 weeks)
- Spend Period: 9th Oct to 8th Nov 2018 (Weekly reset)
That’s again close to 5% value when you can spend about 5 Lakhs and win. Probability of winning this is more compared to the Offer #1 as the No. of winners are high.

- Rs.5,000 MMT Hotel Voucher (5*1k)
- Winners Count: 60 Winners/day
- Spend Period: 9th Oct to 8th Nov 2018 (Daily reset)
Now this is the offer that can be easily achieved given the per day winner count volume. Infact a lot of you will be getting this voucher even if you spend close to ~1L, because if someone spends more, they’ll goto the offer #2 as only one voucher is given to the winner in the entire offer period.
But the most important thing is: Its Useless for many as you can use only one 1k MMT voucher per booking. More info on the offer is here.
Bottomline
I still continue to skip these types of offers for now, for the reasons i’ve mentioned above. If SBICard really cares about its customers, they could have atleast done a mix of confirmed offer on spending Rs.X with Offer #2 and leaving the Offer #1 for top spender.
In a country where Lott*ry is prohibited, I wish RBI too comes up with a ban on these types of promos. What say? 😉

Sometime lottery give u entertainments. Assured rewards are fine but not competitive, I remember icici kwid car offer where I lost car for a mere 20K short swipe but people swiping 3.00 lakhs got car worth 4 lakhs too.
In such offer prizes are big, but in assured offer your rewards are limited to 5 or 7 k.
But of this offers, Icici sound transparent, others only gave winner list.. ICICI shared winner target amount also.. I sincerely appreciate it.

Banks need to come out with more assured category for their high spenders.
Its like cheating as there is no transparency how winners are decided.
It is good if they give offers where benefits are certain on achieving given threshold.
They have spend and get bonus points offer too. But it is less rewarding than other cards. However I’ve the Prime card where we get 2.5% on dining/grocery spends and we can use this here.

Nope ! Bad luck here too even I made a swipe of 2.5 Lacs swipe on 6 nov alone (Bday offer on Prime :p) and 4.5 lacs in that week alone. Your say that this is pure lottery is 100% true. I cann’t Even challenge it anywhere.
