HSBC Premier India Upgraded with new Benefits

If there is one international bank that’s quietly but steadily improving its offerings in India, it’s HSBC. Over the last few years, HSBC has been making small yet meaningful upgrades across its credit card portfolio, and now it’s the turn of HSBC Premier Banking.

The latest refresh brings in new benefits that cover everything from airport transfers to luxury shopping, and most of them are directly linked to the HSBC Premier Credit Card.

While the program itself is broader than just the card, for most of us, the credit card is where the real value lies. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

HSBC Premier Credit Card

  • New All-Black Design
  • 20,000 Reward Points (Until Dec 2025)

Earlier, HSBC Premier Credit Card used to offer 12K INR Taj vouchers, but now they’ve replaced it with 20K reward points. The good part is, these points can be transferred to airline and hotel partners at 1:1 ratio.

With Accor, for example, that’s easily worth about ₹40,000, which is a fantastic value.

That aside, I personally feel the old design looked more elegant. The new all-black version feels a bit plain, so I’m planning to hold on to the current design for sometime. If you need the new design, a card replacement would do.

Airport Transfer

HSBC Premier Airport Transfer
  • 2 Complimentary Domestic Airport transfers via Avis / Year
  • Transfer in a Toyota Hycross / Invicto or similar
  • Upto 50Kms
  • Refer T&C for more

Airport transfers are becoming a must-have benefit in this segment, and it’s great to see HSBC Premier adding it. This makes airport travel a lot more comfortable, especially for frequent flyers.

Airport Meet & Greet

HSBC Premier Meet and Greet
  • 4 Complimentary Domestic Meet & Greet / Year
  • 2 Complimentary International Meet & Greet / Year
  • Powered by Adani One
  • Refer T&C for more

This is another welcome addition. Meet & Greet services are super useful if you want hassle-free airport experiences. What’s nice is that HSBC has also included international meet & greet, which is rare.

Covered airports: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Trivandrum, and Mumbai.

Note: The benefits offered are now slightly different for true premier with 40L INR TRV criteria and others onboarded via Mortgage or Salary Criteria. Above are for true Premier.

Luxury Shopping

HSBC Premier Luxury Shopping
  • Bicester Collection – Private Suite Access & more
  • TataCliq – HSBC Luxe Avenue

The TataCliq benefit doesn’t really add much value, but the Bicester Collection benefit is great to see.

You now get access to a Private Suite, hands-free shopping and more. I tried this recently in Ireland at Kildare Village, and the experience with apartment access was truly premium.

There might be some more benefits added to the program as well, but above are the key changes that I’ve noticed son far.

Final Thoughts

Overall, HSBC has done a solid job with this upgrade. The airport transfers and international meet & greet benefits are valuable additions, while the reward points shift makes the card more flexible for those who love airline and hotel transfers.

Of course, it would have been even better if HSBC had also added Overseas Medical Insurance. Hope that gets added in the next refresh.

Until then, this upgrade along with the recently added benefits like 1:1 points & miles transfers and accelerated rewards makes the HSBC Premier Credit Card one of the most rewarding premium banking cards in India.

These benefits are not available for 3L salary but for people who maintain 40L relationship value with HSBC. I did not even get a RM as I’m apparently not true premier customer

Now they are available. You will get 2 domestic and 2 international meet and greet.

I had a question, if I have 2 adults and 1 kid, considering I have only 2 meet and greets free (1 is used per guest), should I book for 2 adults and then see if they allow kid for free?

Chill, have seen it enough in the past that it doesn’t affect anymore. 😀

Sometimes people are new to it and get frustrated to see fragmented info as well, so it’s okay to have such feedback.

Sorry…but poorly written. Should have covered more about travel partners…more about utlity points etc…
Feels more like an AD rather than an “article”

Travel partners are not part of this upgrade sir. And it’s more of a news article and not an Ad sir.

I live in a tier 3 city. Am i eligible for HSBC premier banking? I am ok if the account is opened in any one of the tier1 city where HSBC has it’s branch, but my address is that of the tier 3 city. I can maintain 40 lakhs of mutual funds with them. Please let me know if I am eligible. Thanks.

Yes, HSBC Premier is open to PAN India, not restricted to their primary serviceable locations. You may open the account in any Branch of your choice.

Can you tell me what the differences are? I like the meet and greet options, and have a salary that fits the criteria. Would like to know what’s missing/excluded.

Can the meet&greet be used to book for someone else apart from the cardholder? Can you book for an add-on card holder?

I have spoken to a RM in Gurgoan, he is saying 40 lacs NRV or 3 lacs salary credit customers fall into same category both or considered as True Premier, only mortgage customers are different. Not sure if info is correct or not

Not true as far as I know. I’ve heard from 2 Salary a/c Premier customers that it is being treated as true premier.

Even my 40L NRV a/c has issues in availing these benefits, probably because I fell short of the criteria for few months.

Currently HSBC Rms are aggressively chasing customers for the Premier accounts. Getting lots of calls from different rms. But trouble is I only invest in fully guaranteed instruments and their FD rates are now lowest in the market.

But this program is very good for the NRI customers.
My bro in law live sin Dubai. He is taking account with 40 lacs NRV so he can also get Premier banking status in Dubai. As per the RM he can also get UAE premier CC and DC just by maintaining the NRV in India.

Yes, HSBC Premier is indeed worthy for international accounts. But haven’t explored the UAE version of it.
One can as well get HSBC US Premier ac with US HSBC Premier Credit Card while living in India. Helps further to open Amex US cards. Little tricky but it’s all possible.

Hello sir, wish you and your family a very Happy Diwali!

I have spoken to rm again, salary account holders will be considered as True Premier customers but they get lesser benefits compared to someone maintaining the NRV.

For USA HSBC prem account do we need US residence visa or it can be opened with it? Have you got the US account?

Is there any restrictions on mutual fund units need to be of regular scheme and not of direct scheme? 🤔

I’m ok to move mutual funds which I’m anyways not planning to sell anytime soon!

Any advice on this will be of great help.
    Thank you

      Only regular schemes allowed.
Direct schemes would not give them any commission.
Regular schemes would pay them about 0.5-0.7% commission on the 40L+ that you have invested. Thats close to 20-28K every year

HSBC’s branding and design is charming but the system and hygiene-level gaps k*ll the charm fast. My experience started with wow and ended with WTF.

And what’s the issue you’re facing with HSBC? It’s all smooth in my case except for dual-card application.

Well, you’re probably an Advance or Premier customer; your experience would be different. Like Jet Airways, service exists in HSBC only if you’re top-tier.

I’d tried applying for C2C sometime back when it was still listed on the website, but the RM outright refused to believe credit cards without salary existed, even after I showed her the details on the official website. I even asked her to confirm with someone, but she was adamant.

That’s not even the bad part. Gaps happen. What bothered me was that even after escalation, it wasn’t resolved. Someone collected all the documents again, including another bank’s credit card statement. Then, after days of follow-up, I was told to visit the branch *again* because they needed to take a pencil stencil copy of my card front. The effort stopped justifying the gain, so I dropped it.

Ah got it, I agree, they do have poor support for non-premier accounts.

What is the best way to maintain the NRV, now their Fd rates are lowest in the market?

Moving stocks to HSBC Demat is the best one but the downside is they no longer have a trading platform, as their old partnership with ICICI Securities ended about an year ago. So the stocks has to sit idle.

Airport Transfer is a wonderful addition to HSBC premier but it’s complicated to avail. I called concierge and he generated a code but says I’m not eligible for the benefit and asks to check with RM.

I became a premier customer by investing 40 lakhs in mutual funds. This was last month (October 2025). I am unable to avail the meet & greet facilities, and the domestic airport transfer facility. Is there a certain period only after which I can avail the above facilities? Kindly let me know. Thanks

15 days post the previous month of eligibility. So you should be able to access from Dec 15th onwards ideally.

Didn’t get you. If I opened my account 19th Nov. And added the funds on 25th Nov. Then when should I ideally be getting the benefits?
