It’s been little over an Year since I took the HSBC Premier Credit Card and I recently received a targeted email for a credit-limit enhancement offer.
The new credit limit offered was over 2X the previous limit and it’s as good as the highest credit limit given on my other bank credit cards.
Here’s how the offer email looks like:
So in a span of 1 Year, HSBC was quite generous to offer a credit limit that is as good as the highest limit available on my other bank super premium credit cards like HDFC Infinia.
That said, not to mention that I got pretty low limit on the initial approval as I previously mentioned on my hands on experience with Premier Credit Card. So HSBC kind of works similar to Amex: Start low but then be generous over time.

I got my HSBC Credit Card in 1999 only once it was enhanced from 35000 to 70000 somewhere in 2009. It is almost 16 years since my credit card limit has increased. my salary has increased almost 12 to 15 times my earlier salary.
